Ch.16 Elsa and Meili

~Y/n pov~

Garfiel stopped at the entrance of the witch's graveyard.

"Good luck." I told him.

He nodded and disappeared into the graveyard.

Garfiel finally walked out of the graveyard.

I turned away from the conversation I was having with Ram.

"How did it go?"

A small smile came onto his face, "It's all fine now. I finally understand."

Ryuzu approached him, "You see.. we...."

"Don't make that face." He placed his hand on her head, "Sorry I worried you."

"I also wanna say..." Garfiel rubbed his neck nervously, "I think the reason I finally accepted the trial was probably because of you. Thanks."

Subaru stared at him stunned. "Did you just say 'thanks'?"

Garfiel's cheeks flushed, "I'm not gonna say it again! Listen up. I realise I lost! But if you guys liberate this place and the old hags suffer for it, I won't go easy on ya!"

"Y-yeah, of course." Subaru stuttered.

"Which means I'm gonna be here to make sure you're not all talk! So make sure ya do it right, boss!"

I almost laughed at the weird situation.

Subaru was still stunned.

Garfiel walked away quickly.

"His face was all red." Emilia laughed.

As soon as he was out of earshot I laughed too.

"That was unexpected."

"Boss?" Subaru asked.

"You're older than he is, so be lenient." Ram told Subaru.

"Wait... he's younger than me?"

Ram seemed surprised he didn't know, "Garf is only turning fifteen this year."

"Eh? So he's as old as my sister!"

Ram nodded.

I was setting off for the mansion with Subaru, Garfiel and Otto.

We all climbed into the carriage.

"Thanks for all the help, you two morons." Subaru beamed at Otto and Garfiel.

"Can't you just thank people normally, you one moron?!" Otto retorted.

I laughed at them, "C'mon, let's go."

Otto sighed and turned to face the road, "Right."

A comfortable silence fell over us as we made our way to the mansion.

It had been a really long day.

I felt my eyes starting to droop as the urge to sleep filled me.

Slowly, I leant onto Garfiel's shoulder.

I felt him tense up and just as he was about to ask me what I was doing, I fell asleep.

I felt face redden as I stared down at the cute girl sleeping on my shoulder.
