Enough to tell him about all the places your body hurts,
About the sore muscles between your shoulder blades.
Enough to tell him that when he kisses you
It doesn't feel like he loves you all that much
Enough to tell him that when you say you love him
It's the same as when he kisses you
Enough that when he touches the skin of your stomach
You don't suck it in because your feel shame.
Enough to let him wander inside your mind
Despite all the dark corners where shadows hide
Enough to feel safe, utterly safe
Within his hands and when you court
Enough to love yourself before him
Does he truly love you?
