The two grew up together at their young ages as thick as thieves in Seoul. Unfortunately, no matter how regretful he was, Beomgyu moved back to Daegu with his parents during junior high school because of their business.

In those separated years, he convinced his parents that he was independent enough to live on his own so they finally let their son go to Seoul for highschool.

After settling in the new environment, Beomgyu reunited with Taehyun.

'Taehyun-ah, let's go to arcade today! I really missed this place.' Beomgyu asked him excitedly.

'Erm...sorry hyung...' Taehyun muttered, eyes looking to the side.

'Oh you are busy? It's just the start of the term.' The older tilted his head.

'I...I have a date with my girlfriend.' Taehyun answered him with a whiff of guilt.

Beomgyu wasn't the only one feeling lonely when their friendship was distanced in those years.

So what did Taehyun do about it?

He got himself a girlfriend, just enough to distract him from the lack of companion.

After school, Beomgyu didn't head to his new home directly, instead he darted to the next apartment, where his neighbour Yeonjun lived at. He knocked the door so urgently that the older opened it for him immediately.

'Whassup man?'

Beomgyu ignored the question and dived into the couch, hugging his plushies, goofing around his room like he owned it.

'He never mentioned anything about his girlfriend and I came all the way from Daegu for him. What a clown I am.' He squeezed and stretched one of his favourite plushies, Yeonjun snatched it quickly to end the violence.

'Your BFF? I understand you are jealous...your brother has a life to live.' Yeonjun stated a matter of fact.

'I know...but I miss him so much. Just by thinking of him smiling for another person makes me feel so...lonely.' Beomgyu pouted and started attacking other plushies on the couch.

'...you like him?' Yeonjun asked carefully like he didn't know if he should have questioned.

'...maybe.' Beomgyu replied, burying his slightly blushed face into the cushion.

@hospital

Strong smell of disinfectant had woken up the ravenette from nostalgia.

Beomgyu opened his eyes to be greeted by the spotless white walls surrounding him. In dizziness, he slowly sat up his heavy body against the headboard, as he put strength on his hands he felt a sting on his left hand—an intravenous drip was connected to the back of his hand. As he adjusted his position, the stand for the IV drip moved a bit and hit the edge of the bed.

'What's that sound—Oh Beomgyu hyung you are awake!' The brunette who just arrived the door exclaimed in surprise and dashed out of the room immediately.

After a little while, a bunch of doctors and nurses came in and checked on Beomgyu. His friends also showed up after Hueningkai's call. One of the nurses signal them to leave the room and talked to them outside.

'Would you like to help contact her parents? We need her guardian to fill in the registrations.' The nurses asked them.

'Her parents are in Daegu, it takes time for them to come. Can't we help with that?' Soobin asked, unlikely to call Beomgyu's parents, or how to explain their son was admitted to a female ward?

'Perhaps, anyone of you is her relative?' The nurse proceeded.

The trio answered 'yes' as if on cue, earning a furrow from her.

'May I ask what's your relationship with her?'

'Older brother-'

'Cousin-'

'Dongsaeng-'

The three blurted out at once, baffled the nurse on her own hearing.

Yeonjun elbowed Hueningkai whispering 'hey, you aren't even a Choi...'

'Sorry for the confusion. We have complicated family background....' Soobin made it up immediately before the nurse suspected.

'We also question on her identity, the ID card in her wallet shows a male-'

'She had gone through a transition so I hope you respect her choice...We'll also be responsible for taking care of her, please take me to the procedures.' Yeonjun as the oldest among them, assured the nurse so she led him to the reception.

Soon the doctors and nurses left, Soobin and Hueningkai entered the room, took turn to hug the baby bear. They ensconced him comfortably on the bed.

'Gosh I had been sleeping for a whole day. Anyways I will be discharged tomorrow. What happened to me and Taehyun?' Beomgyu asked urgently.

'You forgot to cut the call so...I heard you two were in assault and the conversations between the gang. I was really scared so I called the police and the others.'

'It's like looking for a needle in a haystack since the gang was nowhere to be found, until hyung found this and I recognized it-' Correspond to Hueningkai's explanation, Soobin handed him some letter beads from his pocket. It was a miracle he could spot out the broken bracelet on a dimmed street.

'We told the police about the bracelet and soon they found a restaurant with lights still on even passed midnight. Soobinie hyung cried when he saw you two being dragged out from a freezer...'

They explained the event in short, however, missing out the most important part-

'Where's Taehyun?' Beomgyu asked anxiously, those hands on his lap clenched into fists.

The two looked down to the floor, fell into silence.

'ARE YOU DUMB? JUST TELL ME NOW! WHERE IS TAEHYUN?' Beomgyu yelled from his throat with strong sense of dismay, nurses and patients passing the corridor glanced at them.

'Shhh calm down, gyu. We are in hospital...' Soobin pulled him into a hug, all of them were terrified. Beomgyu rejected him because he was so mad, all he wanted was the explanation.

The air had never been as intense as right now.
