A girl with curly bob, looked so tiny in the oversized red dress sobbing in front of him, so lovable but pitiable at the same time, he hugged him tight in his arms, pampering kisses over her face...
Taehyun woke up feeling something missing, something nostalgic. Who's that girl in the dream? Were those random pieces of fragments? Why did he feel so lost?
'TAEHYUNIE! COME WITH US!'
A loud voice outside snapped him out of reminiscence. He brushed the curtains to the sides, through the windows he saw his besties assembled in front of his home. (A/N: Taehyun was living at home with his parents instead of dormitory since he was just discharged from the hospital.)
The three were astonished by the fact that Beomgyu would attend the match. They were notified not by Beomgyu himself but his fangirls uploading photos of him on twitter as they couldn't hide their excitement.
As for Taehyun's health, he was suggested to walk around to stimulate his memories and help him adapt a normal life again. The group wanted to check on Beomgyu as well so they thought it'd be a good idea to bring Taehyun along.
When they arrived the venue, the competition had started already, thanked to Yeonjun and Hueningkai who fought on the choice of snacks at the commissary.
They found comfortable seats at the auditorium with clear sight. As soon as they settled down, Taehyun immediately spotted the familiar silhouette in red jersey with the name 'BEOMGYU' printed at the back.
Rowdy cheers formed as the boy passed through the defenders like a blasting gust, in the speed of light, he angled himself and hit the ball at the right time. The goalkeeper guessed the wrong side, the grating whistle was blown at once.
Scoring one more, all his teammates surrounded him, hugging him, including those who had been discontented with his absence.
The match just started off, his talents and experience proved his worth. Beomgyu's mouth curved up for the present moment, the joy that he longed for, the enthusiasm that he could only find in football.
Taehyun and the others stood up in applause, cheering his name. He waved at the boy on the field with an innocent smile revealing cute dimples.
Beomgyu returned a bitter smile to him, asking himself to act naturally.
'I love you, Beomgyu hyung.'
'I want you to know, no matter what, I love you.'
His smile faded-
Given they were so close before, yet distanced ever, just like one of them was in the game and one at the far top of the auditorium. One remembered they were lovers and one remembered they were brothers.
Beomgyu's heart throbbed just by seeing him and all he could do was escaping, pretending those memories weren't existed.
Another whistle blow, the match started again. The sun was shining ferociously on the boys running on the field, mercilessly supping their stamina, sweats trickling from their skins.
Beomgyu was doing fine at first. As time passed he started feeling off under the blinding sunlight, his energy quickly drawn out, his legs became heavy, nippy steps turned to limping.
'Hey, are you okay? We can change members-' The captain who was always observing the team dashed from the middle field and asked in concern.
Before Beomgyu would nod his head, his vision flickered to black and the next he fell on the turf on all fours. In no time the captain signaled the judge for a pause. His teammates held Beomgyu's arms and brought him to the bench.
His head was spinning around and suddenly something fetching up despite his stomach was empty- he spewed out the unpleasant discharges.
By this time, the captain had made it clear that Beomgyu had to leave the field and receive appropriate care.
'Beomgyu hyung!' The least that Beomgyu would like to meet- Kang Taehyun, panting as he ran all the way down for the older, reached out to him-
'Stay away from me.' Beomgyu spent his last strength to slap away his hand, pushing him away harshly. Taehyun was confused, but more than that, feeling hurt by the sudden rejection.
Beomgyu was then carried to the nurse's office. Since the coach and his teammates still had the match, they left him with the medical staff and his friends who followed them. Besides Taehyun, they were all there for him.
'You need rest...' Yeonjun saw the dark circles under his reddened eyes.
'I can't sleep. I don't know how to face him. Even when he's before me, I feel like he's far away. I keep telling myself we are just brothers. He doesn't love me that way anymore. I know, I know. But every time I see him, the memories, the feelings were there!' He started crying, tears he should have dried out flooded again. They hugged him one more time before leaving him some space.
The three formed a circle and discussed outside the room.
'Should we let Taehyun know about their past?' Hueningkai was biting his lips- how helpless they were. Would it change a bit if they tell him? Or would it just break Beomgyu more?
'Keep it between the two of them. If Beomgyu doesn't want it, we should respect his decision...' Yeonjun rounded his arms on Hueningkai and Soobin. Not only the two, it was hard for all of them to see their beloved ones falling apart.
'What should we do then...'
