'...in this hospital, the next room...'

By this time Yeonjun had finished filling in the papers and appeared from their back.

'Hyung...' The two standing beside the bed looked at Yeonjun with fear in their eyes.

'Sooner or later, gyu needs to know.' Yeonjun wore a serious expression.

'...the wound on his head was not properly treated in time. He underwent a surgery...still some part of his brain was damaged permanently so he went into coma...even if he wakes up, one of his leg-'

Before Yeonjun finished the sentence, Beomgyu detached the IV drip from his hand. He pushed the three to the sides and hurried to the next room.

As soon as he slid the door, he saw the blonde lying on the bed with bandages wrapping over his head and his leg, his chest inflamed ups and downs quietly in sync with the steady beeping from the heart rate monitor. He was deep in his sleep.

'GET THE f*k UP KANG TAEHYUN!' He kept shaking his shoulders vigorously while yelling at the unconscious boy. Beomgyu was totally out of his mind, the other three forcefully separated them.

'How can you leave me like that! I'm killing those jerks!!' Limpid fluids filled his reddish eyes, he fell on the floor leaning on the side of his bed. 'It's my fault, because I lied to him, not only once. I hurt him...' He continued to mumble between the sobs as he curled into a ball.

'I hate to be a girl. Or I could have fought the gang or at least break those f*king fans. I failed to protect him...'

The three didn't know what to say. They were young, they were helpless, being their first time to face such a catastrophe while none of their parents was there yet. They started crying together, hugging each other, until Beomgyu couldn't get more tired and they assisted him back to his ward.

'We will stay until Taehyun's parents arrive. Don't worry, take some rest...' They tugged him back to bed, Beomgyu was too wearied to give them any response, his sobs gradually transited to soft snores.

On the next day, Soobin took a leave from class and picked up Beomgyu from the hospital. Before they left, they looked up to Taehyun one more time, he was still sleeping in the same position as yesterday.

They greeted his parents who had been staying beside their son, the adults also hugged them knowing their affliction. Beomgyu insisted to remain but they all convinced him to go because he still needed more rest, mentally and physically.

Beomgyu stayed at Soobin's house for the day so the family could take care of him. On their way, he received a phone call from his parents-

'Beomgyu dear, how could you not tell us! I just heard from Taehyun's parents, both of you are in hospital. We are coming tomorrow.'

Just one day of isolation brought him so much loneliness.

With or without Taehyun's accompany, problems never stopped running to Beomgyu himself. He wasn't in the mood but the football team kept bothering him. He was told the other striker Hyunjin was injured during practice despite the joint school competition was coming up next week.

The captain and his teammates contacted him in various ways, begging him for his return since some of them were going to graduate, determined to make the best out of their last tournament.

Beomgyu had been disappointing them. Some of his teammates started ranting about kicking him out of the team in the group chats.

He couldn't live a day without blaming himself for not weighing between his wish and other important things in his life.

Even in his worst state, Beomgyu couldn't escape from his parents, who were meeting him at the hospital to visit Taehyun together.

'Son, are you okay?' Beomgyu's mum had a heartache when she saw the pale face of her son. His parents immediately hugged him tight.

'I was discharged yesterday. Doing fine.' Beomgyu replied with a bland tone, he had put on a pair of glasses so his puffy eyes won't be too obvious. He didn't want his parents to worry about him.

'Since when you have become so thin? Did you eat well, sleep well?' His mum scanned through him, as a mother it's not difficult to sense the change of his physique but she thought it was because his son's living style. After their visit, his parents decided to bring him to a restaurant.

It was a decent café for Korean cuisine, in his heart he was thankful his parents treated him his tteokbokki and all his favourite dishes, however his mind was just full of worries and so he didn't eat much. His parents of course noticed that.

'Beomgyu-ah, we are so sorry for Taehyun. Every one of us is upset but we can only hope for the best.' His mum rubbed his hand gently. 'You and Taehyun are best friends since you were small so you must be lonely then...Your dad has a friend in Seoul, his daughter is about your age, her name is Yeojin, she's sweet and always wanted to meet you, maybe you can make a new friend-'

'Enough! Don't you see how pathetic I am, hypocrites!' Beomgyu stood up all of a sudden and yelled at them when he was finally overwhelmed by everything. No one seemed to understand his problems and the only person accepted him unconditionally was almost lying on a death bed.

His parents' eyes widened in shock at the unexpected detonation.

It was rude, Beomgyu immediately regretted for what he had done. Though he didn't mean it, he couldn't take it anymore. Packing his bag quickly, he left the restaurant right the way leaving his parents.

He knew they were caring but he was agonized by his own life.

Just one day before, he was holding hands with Taehyun at the coast under the most beautiful sunset. And the next moment, his love was on verge and responsibilities as the boy Choi Beomgyu were chasing after him one by one.

As he slowed down from the dash, he checked upon the news app on his phone to make sure another meteor shower was coming tonight-
