"Where is it... Where is it..." You muttered to yourself as you scoured the menu of Amagi Bakery. Today was Valentine's Day, and you were hoping to get your boyfriend a present before you went to school today. A "little bird", a.k.a. Nekoma's captain, had "accidentally" let it slip that Kei's favorite dessert was a strawberry shortcake, so you had decided to stop at the bakery on your way to school. It was fairly popular in the neighborhood after all.

Truth be told, you wouldn't have resorted to asking Tetsurou (who you had met during one of Kei's various training sessions and had insisted that "someone as cute as you should call me by my first name!"), but your stupid boyfriend had refused to tell you what his favorite dessert was. And every time you tried to ask Yamaguchi, he ran away yelling sorry.

"Hello? May I help you?" A man in an apron and buzzcut asked, suddenly behind the counter in front of you.

"Oh!" You yelped in surprise. "Um, yeah, actually. Do you-" You were cut off by another voice calling out to you.

"(Name)? What are you doing here?" A familiar voice said to the right of you, causing you to tense up like you had just been found with your hand in the cookie jar.

Slowly turning to face them, a nervous grin found itself across your face. "Kei...?" There was no way he was here. No way. If he was, your whole plan was practically ruined. He was sure to keep pushing as to why you were there, and everyone knew that you were a horrendous liar. You couldn't lie to save your life.

"What are you doing here?" Kei repeated, waiting patiently. Your eyes darted around the room, desperately seeking an excuse before landing on a small, white box. A small, white box that just so happened to be residing in your boyfriend's hands.

"... Why are you here?" You asked in response, desperately hoping that you could somehow get out of answering his question. Just imagining the embarrassment made you feel like laying down on the floor and curling up in a ball.

"I wanted something sweet to eat during lunch. Now stop avoiding the question. Why are you here?" Ah... He was beginning to lose his patience... Urgh. You didn't want to have to deal with that right now...

You thanked your lucky stars that Kei had given you an excuse that you could use. God knows you would have spilled the beans if he hadn't. That, and you would have been cursing every fiber of your body for not being able to lie and keep a secret.

"Oh, I'm here for the same thing!" You chirped back in relief. "I was just about to order! Why don't we walk to school together once I do?"

Tsukishima shrugged, a nonchalant "sure" making it's way out of his mouth.

"Alright! I'll only take a moment," You turned back to the store clerk, who had been patiently waiting for you to finish your conversation so that they could help you with what you needed. "Um... Could I get a strawberry shortcake? Please? Thank you."

They nodded and yelled your order over to their coworker, who began to package it.

"That would be ¥368, ma'am," The man said, sending you rummaging through your school bag to find your wallet. It probably would have been a good idea to take it out beforehand, you realized belatedly as you struggled shifting throughout all of the things in your bag. A cough from behind you pulled you out of your musings as Tsukishima waved your wallet in your face. An irritatingly smug smirk was in place of his previously bored expression.

"It was in the outside pocket, (Name)," Kei drawled condescendingly, smirking down at you as you snatched the item away with a scowl.

"I knew that," You huffed, pulling out the amount of money necessary to buy the cake. "Here you go."

"Thank you for your service. Please come again!"

Now with your own box in hand, you and your boyfriend walked towards the school, making pointless smalltalk filled with endless teasing. Once you reached the classroom the two of you split with the usual unspoken promise to meet up again during lunch.

Clutching the box of cake to your chest with one hand, the other held your lunch. You were headed outside to the tree where you normally ate lunch. Usually you would end up eating with Yamaguchi and Kei, but the other day you had all but begged on your knees with Yamaguchi to let you have today alone with his best friend. Sure, he may be irritating at times, but you still loved each other.

Finally reaching it, you plopped down on the bench encircling the tree. Looking over to the tall blond leaning against the trunk and eating his lunch, you gave a small "hi".

"Hey."

Opening your own lunch, you picked up your chopsticks and began to eat slowly, eyeing him from the corner of your eye. You were so focused on watching him, that you ended up stabbing yourself with your utensils and dropping your food back into your lunchbox.

"Is there a reason you keep staring at me, (Name)? Or am I just that good-looking?" You flushed red at Tsukishima's comment. Whether it was from embarrassment or anger, you weren't sure. It may possibly be a mixture of the two.

Turning away to cover the redness, you reached over and grabbed the box of cake, hurriedly turning back and shoving it into the source of your embarrassment's chest.

"Take it! It's for you anyways!"

One loud snort and a fit of poorly muffled snickers later, you found yourself in a fit of mortified indignation.

A giggle. "You..." A snicker. "That's why you refused to answer my question this morning?" Full on laughter. Tsukishima Kei, your obnoxiously arrogant boyfriend, was in stitches over the fact that you had decided to do something for Valentine's Day.

"It's not funny!" You protested, your face a nice shade of dark red by this point. "God!" Huffing, you turned away in a fit, arms crossed and a scowl on your face. "The one time I do something and this happens..."

Lanky arms wrapped themselves around your torso and a head rested itself on top of your shoulder. His breath tickled. "I'm sorry. I appreciate it, Princess. I love you."

Letting out a sigh, you let your arms fall back down to your sides and shrugged off the body that was leaning on you. Not without a quick peck on the lips though. "I love you too, you nerd." Picking your lunch back up, you sent Kei a smirk of your own.

"I expect something better on White Day!"
