Chpater 9: Sometimes Things Don't Always Go To Plan
"Damn, damn, girl you do it well. And I though you were innocent." -Not Over You Gavin DeGraw
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
I woke up to someone, more like multiple someones, screaming that in my ear. My eyes snapped open and I sat bolt upright in my bed. I looked around to find Usher, Alexander, Electra, Simon (though he didn't seem so enthusiastic when he said it happy birthday), and... Cher Lloyd? OH MY GOD! CHER LLOYD IS IN MY ROOM!
OK, I'm done.
"What the hell?" I asked, pushing my hair out of my face.
"Language child!" Lectra shouted, pointing a finger at me.
"If it's my birthday, as you say it is, then wouldn't you be considered the child?" I asked her, causing her smirk to turn to a confused frown. After a moment, she just shook her head, waved me off, and continued with her-her- whatever this is.
"Okay! Up! Now! Get dressed- actually, scratch that. Don't get dressed. You have to open your presents first!" Lectra exclaimed, clapping her hands together in delight. She was acting all giddy, for some unknown reason. I just shrugged it off, and climbed out of bed. My capris sweats and sports bra made me comfortable, even though my stomach was showing. I reached over and grabbed a sweatshirt and pulled it over my head. Once it was on, I was quickly pulled over to the center of my room and shoved onto the ground. I glared up at Electra, who just smiled sweetly.
"Oh, thanks for reminding me, love. I have to go. Happy birthday." Alexander said, adding a wink on at the end. Then he walked out, pulling Usher with him. I looked around, confused. When no one shared, I simply shrugged it off. Maybe Usher had business or something that Alexander had to take him to.
A gift was shoved in my hand by a very giddy and over excited Lectra. She was always like this on my birthday, so I was used to it. However, everyone else in the room was looking at her like she was crazy. Which is a possibility, just saying.
I took the present, which just so happened to be a very big box. It was nicely wrapped though, with a bow on top. So, me being me, took the bow off and put it on my head. Simon and Cher laughed at me, but I just smiled cheekily. This was how I unwrapped my gifts, if there is a bow, it goes on my head. Lectra was used to this. I tore off the wrapping paper to see... a box.
"Yay! I got a box! Just what I wanted!" I exclaimed jokingly. Electra rolled her eyes at me.
"Open it, you dim wit." she said, annoyed I was taking so long. I pouted, but obeyed.
I ripped of the tape on the box, and took off the lid. Inside was something wrapped up in a grey jacket, and there was something underneath it. I picked up the jacket wrapped thing first and unraveled it. All wrapped up inside was a pure black Polaroid camera. I gasped, I can't remember how long I had been asking for one of these. I looked up at Lectra, with a smile, then back at the jacket. Setting the camera safely off to the side, I picked the jacket up. It was grey, with a charcoal grey hood. But the thing about it was the wording. It said PINK on the front, which meant it was a Victoria's Secret brand jacket, but when you flipped it over it read: PROPERTY OF THE U.S. ARMY, with the number 1775 written below it. I smiled the widest smile I had ever smiled. I looked over at my best friend, who was smiling smugly, and tackled her in a hug. She laughed, as I let go of her.
"There's more." she said, motioning to the box. I sat back down in front of the box, and picked up a red vintage pleated mid-sleeve dress. It was really pretty, but then a thought struck me, and I set it down.
"I have nothing to wear this too." I said, looking down at the outfit sadly. I heard them sigh.
"That's why I'm taking you clubbing." Cher spoke for the first time. I looked over, shocked at what she had just said. Clubbing? Nuh uh, I'm under age. I shook my head, which caused Cher to go on. "You're legal. Eighteen is legal here." she said. I sighed, there was no way I was getting out of this, I just knew it.
