She watched as he scooted away from her. He was cute, Lilia realized, the curls in his hair complementing the rest of his features better than one would think.

Lilia had also noticed the slightest bit of muscle beneath the long sleeve shirt he wore, yet was nothing compared to that of the boys she'd read about in books; their bodies with an amazing six pack and being all around gorgeous.

He was simple, plain even, going unnoticed to the rest of the world and seeming to prefer it that way, just as Lilia did.

"What about now?" Lilia made the smacking noise of her gum in his direction, purposely doing whatever she could to aggravate him. "Will you tell me your name now?"

It was then he glared at her, finally pushing himself away from the table and getting up. "What makes you think I would tell you anything after what you did?" Lilia watched as he grabbed a backpack that was sitting on the floor, placing the book he was reading earlier inside.

Standing up as well, Lilia said, "Oh, come on. All I did was spoil the ending to a book. It's better than some things i've done."

"You know what, you're right. I'm overreacting." He deadpanned, Lilia noticing the tiniest bit of a roll of his eyes.

"Does that mean you'll tell me your name?" Lilia pressed again. She felt she was right after all, it's not like she burned his precious book or anything. Nor did she glue the pages together, or put her gum in that book. Lilia hadn't even opened it up and colored in it, scribbling all over with a pen. This was something she had done once before though, a few months back in a different town.

The most fun was running her different colored pens over the words written in that book. That librarian there didn't understand Lilia's fascination though.

The boy took off his cap, breathing in and running his hands through his hair. "Why do you want me to so badly? Go bother someone else."

"No, I like bothering you, you look funny when you're angry. And if you never tell me your name, how will we become friends?" Lilia told him.

"You don't exactly look like you're dying to be my bestie, so again, go ruin someone else's day." He snarled, covering his face and quickly walking in the other direction.

But Lilia was right behind him, her bag already slung over her shoulder, tapping his shoulder. "Where are you going?"

"Away from you." He hissed, shifting the backpack to a better position on his back.

"I thought nerds weren't supposed to lash out at people." Lilia spat, getting in his face. He was shorter than her, only by a few inches but enough to intimidate him, which was Lilia's goal.

"And I thought mental patients weren't allowed out in public without supervision." He snapped at her. "Looks like we we both wrong."

At his words, Lilia huffed. "Fine, Mr. No Name. I'm gonna just head over to a different part of the library and have some 'mental patient' kind of fun then."

"What are you going to do?" Lilia heard spoken behind her, a grin making its way onto her face as they were.

"Nothing too illegal. I'm not a criminal after all." She giggled.

He let out a small laugh too, and whispered, "I know a few books that would beg to differ." Then, letting his face lift up to look at Lilia, he asked, "What will it take to get you to not go back there and destroy some innocent bystanders next favorite book?"

"Well, if I had a friend, I could have fun in another way." Lilia reasoned. "So, what do you say? Wanna be besties?"

He sighed, walking over to her and clenching his teeth. "Hi," He started, extending his hand for Lilia to shake. "My name is Cody."

Lilia ignored the hand gesture, crossing her arms instead and smiling wide. "Nice to meet you. But let me ask you a question."

"And what would that be, Lilia?" He pondered, rubbing the back of his neck and placing the cap back on his head as he put his hand back by his side.

Yanking on his sleeve, Lilia was ready to drag him to the next destination. "Wanna have some fun, Cody?"

Question: Who's your favorite female book character?

My answer: Lana Arwen Lazar from GONE by Michael Grant. I mean, not only does she get in a wreck after her grandfather poofed (it's a FAYZ thing) and live because of her awesome healing powers, but when things got really rough for all those kids in there, she still had Patrick. And while we're on the topic, Patrick was like the last remaining animal in that dome and he even made it out. That's pretty awesome! But, um, yeah. Lana is amazing! But if it wasn't her as my favorite female, it would probably be Meghan Chase from The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa.
