•Tear Pages From A Book•

Cody was the first to grab the soaked book when the machine was finished.

He had complained to Lilia that it just wasn't right to do such a thing to a book, yelling at her and pointing out that books weren't supposed to get wet.

So Lilia had a solution to his problem; she put the dripping hardback in a dryer. And much to her disappointment, Cody wasn't pleased by her action.

When all was said and done, the book back in Lilia's hands as they exited the laundry mat, Cody turned to her.

"That was it." He told her, eyeing the book. Lilia could tell that he was holding back a scream, ready to blow up at her any minute now. "Goodbye, Lilia."

She pretended to be more interested in her nails, examining them instead of caring what Cody was saying. But there was a split second, one that Lilia hoped he didn't catch, where the facade faltered. Lilia had felt it, the instant sting in her body. Cody was leaving, and that was hurting her for reasons she had yet to figure out.

She voiced none of this though, replying with, "Eh, whatever." She bit at one of her nails and let her eyes fall on him again. "It would probably be more fun to do my next craft project alone anyway."

"It's already destroyed beyond compare," Cody started, both of them glancing at the worn out item in her hands. The pages were hanging out of it and the tape was a horrific mess on an equally as awful cover. "What more can you do?"

"I don't know." Lilia admitted, watching as the boy wrapped his arms around himself as a cool breeze went by. "Maybe i'll make something with the pages or some creative crap like that."

Lilia could tell that Cody wanted to say more about it -probably to convince her that doing such was a bad idea-, but he only shook his head and took a deep breath. "Do what you want, Lilia."

She saw him put one of his hands in his pocket, holding his backpack up with the other. Cody did a half smile and walked away after that, leaving Lilia alone and left to do one thing.

If she was going to do any kind of project next, she was going to need more pages than what had come out of the book already.

At that thought, Lilia opened the book and began ripping out the paper inside.

Question: Weirdest and most confusing death you've ever read in a book?

My answer: Edward from 'Divergent' by Veronica Roth. Did he, like, get trampled to death...I mean, that's what happened right? That's kinda sucky considering how he survived a butterknife to the eye and all.
