Bokuto- memories

3rd POV

Today was yours and bokutos 7 year anniversary, you two had been together since both of yours first year in high school.

You both graduated and followed your passions, you became a (preferred job of choice) while bokuto went on tp play professional volleyball. You two had a seemingly perfect live, not long after graduation bokuto proposed to you.

Now he was sitting in the place where you agreed to be his girlfriends, and the place you said you'd be his wife.

~flashback~
He had taken you two to the place where you had your first date, where he confessed his love to you. It was a beautiful opening near the cliffs overlooking the ocean.
When you first seen the view you were in awe, it was one of the most beautiful places you had ever seen. Turning around you ask him "what made you bring me here?" "It might sound cheesy but.. it reminded me of how beautiful you are." He spoke in a soft voice, looking down at his feet. "You think I'm beautiful ?" You asked as you feel your face getting slightly warmer "I think your the most beautiful person I've ever seen y/n, that's why i was wondering if you'd want to be my girlfriend?" You could hear the shyness in his voice the more he spoke.

Walking over to him you put your hands on his shoulders and kiss him on the cheek then whispered into his ear, "yes bokuto, I'd love nothing more than to be your girlfriend". After you said that his eyes lit up as he put his arms around your waist and lifted you off your feet into the hug.

Then to think that less than 4 years later you both were back at the same spot.
"Alright now don't look until i tell you" bokuto had said to you with his hands over your eyes. Not long after he removed his hands had he told you to turn around, when you did you seen him down on one knee with a black velvet box in his hand with a ring. "Y/n l/n, you're the love of my life, my soulmate, the person who makes me the happiest, the only person i want to spend the rest of my life with. So will you do me the honor of spending the rest of your life with me and become y/n Bokuto?"

All you could do in the moment was cover your mouth as tears threatened to spill from your eyes. After a few seconds of fully processing what he was asking you, you shook your head yes as you locked your arms around his neck, muffles yeses were spilling out of your mouth.

You feel his arms wrap around you and embrace you in a tight hug.

~end of flashback~

Whenever bokuto would think back on that moment he couldn't help but smile, those were two of the happiest days of his life.

Then just 3 months later you told him you were pregnant. The look on his face was precious, he was smiling from ear to ear and going on about how you two would make great parents.

That was all in the past now, all those memories were just memories of the past, memories that he held onto to this day. He looked down at the little girl in his lap, he let her play on his phone so she might not see him cry,

The little 3 year old had bokutos golden eyes, and your h/c, he begun playing with a piece of her short hair, looking at the h/c strands between his fingers reminded him of all the nights you fell asleep on his chest with him playing with your hair.

He begun getting lost in thought until he felt a small hand begin to tap his arm, "daddy?" His daughter asked. "Yes princess?" He asked with a small sniffle. She held his phone up in his face as she showed him a facebook memory, it was of him and y/n, their first picture together as a couple. "Daddy, who's this pretty lady next to you?' She asked with an innocent face.

All he did was stare at the picture for a minute before he managed a response. "That's your mommy, she was amazing." He answered in an almost whisper.

He couldn't hold in the tears anymore, with his glossed over red eyes his cheeks begun to get stained with tears. All the memories of that day begin flooding back to him.

~Flashback to 3 years ago today~

"Ah Kotaro!" You screamed from the kitchen as you bent over in pain. Clutching your stomach.

"Y/n! Are you ok what happened?" He asked with a scared face.

"I-I'm fine- ahh it's just- the baby's coming" you managed to say through pained groans.

Soon you two were at the hostpital and in a room within 20 minutes.
"Shhh baby, it's gonna be okay" bokuto tried to reassure you as he rubbed small circles with his thumb on the back of your hand as you were nearly crushing his hand you were squeezing so hard.

After a few minutes the doctor came in and informed you that you would have to have an emergency c section due to complications.

The nurses tried to reassure you and bokuto both that everything would be okay, that was the last time bokuto seen you before you were took into get sedated.

He waited in the hallway as he was on the phone with Akaashi trying to focus on anything but his worries.

After about an hour the doctor came into the hall, bokuto put the phone down from his ear as he ran up to the doctor and begin frantically asking about you and the baby.

"Bokuto, the baby is a girl and doing well, you should be able to see her soon.." he trailed off. He looked at bokuto seriously before he said the words that will stick with bokuto forever. "As for l/n I'm sorry to tell you this but she didn't make it."

Bokuto dropped to his knees, his eyes dulled over as tears begin running down his cheeks.

After he came to his senses a little more he asked if he could see you. The doctor showed him to where you were.
As soon as he opened the door he ran up to you, looking down at your lifeless body made him feel sick. The person he was supposed to spend the rest of his life with was now gone forever.

~end of flashback ~

The memories of the past slowly begun to fade as he felt small fingers brush the tears away from his eyes. This just made him cry more.

But he put on a smile through the tears so he wouldn't make his daughter sad. "I'm ok princess, daddy's just thinking about how great your mommy was.."

He whispered as he pulled his small daughter into a hug, looking up at the start night sky he liked to imagine that your spirit was still with him, watching your daughter grow up.

Rubbing small circles on the small child's back he decided to look at the future instead of replaying all the memories of the past.

I don't really like how this ended but the idea for this just popped into my head and I decided that if I had to cry about it then other mist as well🥲😭
