CHAPTER-4

DREW POV

“Mom I am back”,  enters the kitchen.

DMOM:  Hey go wash up first. You are sweating a lot.

D-NANA:  Yes dear go take a shower first. We’ll wait for you

DREW:  Okay Nana.

Drew Family is a joint family. His Grandparents are still alive. Drew is adored by everyone in the family as he is the eldest grandson. He has two uncles and one aunty. He is pampered a lot.

‘Comes down after taking shower.‘

D-NANA:  How’s school today?

DREW: Regular classes as usual. Gosh, it was so sunny and we were forced to go out for PE Class. And I didn’t even take water today on top of that I forgot to take my wallet.

DMOM:  I asked you several times before going whether you have everything inside your bag. You kept on responding saying that you have prepared everything and not to ask you right. You and your carelessness.

D-NANA:  Don’t blame the kid- you should have at least check his bag He’s still a kid.

DAUNTY:  Ayah Mom stopit .Drew is old enough to take care of himself. There are lots of kids at his age who take cares of themselves.

DREW: It’s okay nana. I was being irresponsible. Luckily Ann bought extra pocket money and she bought me water.

“The second uncle joins the conversation”

DUNCLE:  How’s she doing? It’s been a while since I have seen her.

DAUNTY:  How comes you know about her? While I still hasn't meet her.

DUNCLE:  Well, I met her when I went to drop Drew the other day. She looks weak. But she’s a cute girl with round eyes and so on-(grabbing the snack)

DNANA: Drew why don’t you invite her over for dinner or lunch one day?

DREW:  I have asked her several times but she refused. She’s scared of her grandma. I heard she’s very strict with Ann. And that her mom is still bedridden.

DMOM:  Wait it’s been more than 4-5 years. She’s still hospitalized?

DREW:  Yes-  Ann hardly used to hang out with us after class as she has to tend her sick mother. She said she is so tired and she often passed out during classes. But her family didn’t come to pick her up instead the driver came.

DNANA: Poor soul- Why don’t we go and visit her mom? We can let your second uncle drive.

DREW:  No one has ever met her mom nor her grandma. And it seems No one is allowed to visit her mother than Ann and her grandma. I exactly don’t know what her sickness is. And I don’t want to  asked ann too. So, we hardly talked about this issue.

DAUNTY: So, this kind of people still does exist. I pity that friend of yours. I’ll visit your school one day during recess and I’ll treat you both okay. (pinching drew cheeks)

 DREW:  okay Aunt.I’ll let Ann know too. She’ll be very happy.  By the way I’ll head up first I have many notes to copy bye-

 DMOM:  Okay I’ll cut up some fruits in a bit.

Drew went to his room happily after what his aunt has said.

DMOM:  I have met her. She’s a cheerful, jolly girl. She’gets along with everyone. Not an introvert like our Drew. But after getting along with her Our drew also have changed a lot. See,he started  talking  and interact with more people recently. .

DUNCLE:  Yes she even greeted me calling Uncle. I want to know about her even more.

DAUNTY:  Don’t worry I will dug out every information on Ann. As she is Nephew's bestfriend.

DUNCLE:  Oh dear please don’t cause any Trouble okay.

ANNA POV

It’s late. I am left alone in this big house. I can even hear the echo of my breath. I Have bunches of assignments piling up but all I wish is to see mom. Why is my life like this?  I am not allowed to asked about my dad or talked to anyone. All I do is talk to my dolls every night like a madman. I want to burst out crying but how will that help. After crying it’s not like everything I asked or wished for will be granted. I have me only me that will support me and I need to stay strong. Not to let my guards down. I am so bored Grandma’s also not coming back. I’ll go and clean mom room.

Anna humming a song went to his mother room. Since no maid was allowed to enter Misty room, Ann went to clean her room. The other day it was Misty mom who cleaned her room but she hardly stays at home lately so, Anna thought she will be of little help. She enter her mom room which is decorated beautifully like that of a princess room. She wipes off the dust and cleans the shelves among the books falls down a picture

ANNA:  Who’s this?
