A day later Kion still couldn't understand what that wolf wanted, well, of course he wanted Kion to join his pack, but why? Why would he even care? Was it all a trick? Some lie to get the Pridelands prince and leader of the Lion Guard on his side? Or was it true that the wolf wanted to.. help him?
Kion didn't know. Everything he knew was that his offering was tempting to say the least, but then again, if there was anything Kion had learned over time, it was to not trust anyone. Ever.
Yes, he did have trust issues due to Simba's abuse. It had taken a very long while for his friends to earn his trust.
And even after they did, he was always wary. Always on high alert. He never knew when something could take him by surprise. He remembered one time when he did trust someone without thinking straight... Nah, he wasn't gonna think about that now, just brought up... Memories. Dark memories.
He shook his head to try to clear them from his mind. "Gotta go meet up with the Guard for morning patrol." He murmured to himself. He wound up in Pride Rock again after Simba discovered he was in Fuli's den, right after the wolf left and while Fuli was out hunting.
Simba got so angry he...
Kion shook his head. Images and memories of the pain and torture flashed through his mind. He couldn't think about it now. Only focus on getting to his destination. His ribs still hurt after Simba had lunged at him - he started to get a little worried that one of his ribs might be broken, too bad Rafiki wasn't gonna help him.
Why? Rafiki was on Simba's side, and he knew about this whole thing as well.
He sighed, his head hanging low. "I hate this so much..." He felt a pain in his eye, the place where Simba struck him when he found him at Fuli's den. He left three marks on his eye, or what was his eye, two above and one below. What was left of his eye was just an empty socket.
This was the next day, and his Lion Guard and Fuli hadn't seen his scar yet.Another worse detail; he was half-blind now.
He arrived at his usual meeting spot with the Lion Guard. He tried to not become nervous when the Guard just stared at him.
"Kion? You ok, buddy?" Bunga asked, probably very concerned. "You look... off in a way."
Kion didn't answer, just turned the left side of his face towards them so they could see it.
The Guard gasped at full sight of the mark and his missing eye.
"Kion, what happened? I was looking all over for you when I came back and saw you gone!" Fuli blurted out.
Kion sighed. "My dad figured out I was at your den, and guess what, he made me look like Scar, plus I can't see on my left eye anymore- it's gone, just perfect, isn't it?" Kion snapped sarcastically.
"Oh Kion, my sweetie, how could he?" Fuli hugged him.
Kion was shocked by the gesture and pain seared through his ribs. "Agh, Fuli- agh! Stop!" He cried out in pain.
Fuli quickly pulled away. "Kion, what is it?"
"My ribs." he told her, his voice cracking. "When my dad lunged at me and did all that to me... he hurt my ribs a lot, it hurts whenever I move.. I'm worried that they might be broken."
"Sounds like you've been through alot, take this day off, Kion." Fuli said with a soft tone.
"No, my dad will kill me if he finds out that I'm not on patrol. I have to go." He started walking, but pain seared through him. "Aghhh- ow, hurts- agh!"
"Alright, Kion, you're definitely taking this day off, I won't accept you continuing on this patrol." Fuli insisted.
