It was some months later. Kion's ribs had almost healed completely at this point. He walked outside of the den for the first time in what felt like forever. He enjoyed the light wind stroking his fur and every single step he took felt like magic. He enjoyed being able to walk without having the risk of his ribs popping his heart or puncturing his lungs, but his problems were yet far from over. He put his paw on his left eye, or the hole that was left. It wouldn't just grow another eye out, it would never get healed. He would have an ugly cyclop-face for the rest of his life.

I'll always look like this, his thoughts scowled. I'll always have this ugly good for nothing face.

He got pulled out of his thoughts and back into reality by a commanding voice. "Kion, I see you feel better."

"Yeah, Sergey, I do." Kion smiled, looking back at the muscular and broad shouldered wolf leader. Aside from my face, he couldn't help but think bitterly, but didn't dare say that in front of the pack leader.

"Great. Now you remember our agreement, right?" Sergey asked.

Kion's heart nearly stopped. The agreement, the freaking agreement. He only agreed to that because he had to survive somehow. It was either that or get thrown back in The Pridelands. "Uhm, yeah, that little agreement." Kion smiled awkwardly.

"Yeah, we helped you, now it's time you help us. One for all, all for one, Kion."

"Yeah, but do I have to do it alone?" Kion asked, he really didn't want to fight his father alone.

"Well, it depends on if you have contacts in the Pridelands or anywhere else. If you do then go ahead, but none of my wolves will fight against him." Sergey said.

"But Oscar said he was willing to help." Kion protested.

"But I am not Oscar and he is not in charge. If I say that he won't help you, then he won't. I need him here to train the hunters." Sergey said.

"Well, I am a lion of my word. I'll do my best." Kion sighed.

"Good, and Kion, don't disappoint me." Sergey gave him a look as cold as ice.

"I won't." Kion said and began to go to the Pridelands.

"Fuli, for real, just let it go. Kion's gone and you can't mourn him forever." Bunga said.

"Oh shut up before The Pridelands will mourn YOU!" Fuli growled and looked him dead in the eyes.

"Look, I get how you feel, but you gotta let it go." Bunga sighed.

Fuli opened her mouth to protest, but then suddenly she heard a rustling behind her.

"Kion?!" She turned around.

"Fuli!" Kion rushed towards her and embraced her in a hug.

Fuli looked like a statue - she didn't know how to react. Eventually she burst into tears, tears of nearly every imaginable emotion.

"Kion!" She hugged him tight, sobbing. "Kion my sweetie..." She licked his face all over. "How did you...?"

"I found a way to escape." He told her. It wasn't completely a lie... he did find a way to escape, just with some help.

"I thought you were dead! It's so good to see you..." She purred.

Kion felt a feeling of warmth rushing through him. It was something he hadn't felt in months. Love.

The rest of the Lion Guard just stared at them, their expressions unreadable. Fuli paid no mind to them, asking question after question.

"Are you feeling okay?" "How did your ribs heal?" "How did you escape from Simba?"
