Clara POV

He said it'd take him about five minutes. It'd had been 30 when I started to get worried. I decided to call him to make sure he was okay. I picked my phone off my charger and scrolled through my contacts and found "Brick" (Devons nickname).  He picked up on the 3rd ring and all I heard were muffled noises and sirens and yelling.

"Devon?! Are you okay?!"

"Yeah. Meet me at Hope Hospital, I just found Cameron wrapped around a tree."

"Okay I'll be there soon"

I hung up, thankful Devon wasn't hurt, but scared because Cameron was. I ran out of the house and got into my Dodge truck and sped off the hospital, not even thinking straight. It started raining. Not lightly, but pouring down rain with hurricane force winds. I pulled over and searched for my phone to tell Devon it'd take me a little while longer to get there than expected and soon found that I left it at home. I was almost to the hospital so it was pointless to turn around. I turned the keys to start my truck but the ignition didn't catch. I turned it over and over and over and over again, but still no luck. My flipping igniter was out and there was no way I could find someone to give me a ride to the hospital, no one was even on the roads to begin with.

I slammed my head onto the steering wheel and was jolted back up when I heard my horn beep. Frustrated and tired I unbuckled and got out to take a look at my engine. Being a mechanic apprentice I should be able to apply a temporary fix. I must admit, I was terrified getting out of that truck. Not only was it dark, but I wasn't taking a main road, so no one was around. I opened the hood of my car and started fumbling around when I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I stayed in the exact spot I was, terrified to even take a breath.

"Calm down, it's just me Clara" the female voice said.

"Devanee! Stop scaring me like that! Why are you even here?"

"Mom and I heard you leave so she sent me to find you. Looks like I showed up at a good time. What happened?"

"Stupid igniter went out on me." I shivered, it was starting to drizzle and I was wearing shorts and a light shirt.

"Ugh. Get in. Where are you going?"

"Hope Hospital.." I muttered

"Why?"

"Cameron is in there and he's been hurt real bad. Devon's with him."

"Okay." She started her slick black Mercedes-Benz and we drove off. I grabbed her phone and called Dev, letting him know what happened.

When we got to the hospital I ran in the front doors and asked to see Cameron.

"136."

"thanks!"  I yelled as I ran in the direction she pointed in. I opened the door and walked to his bedside.

"Oh shit."
