Brynn POV:
When I woke up I looked out the window to see nothing but a dark night, partially illuminated by the street lights and the headlights of the occasional passing car. I turned onto my side to face the opposite direction and found Devanee, of all people, sleeping in the chair next to me. She was usually tangled up with her boyfriend, Justin.
Devanee was one of the prettiest girls I had laid eyes on. She had shoulder length chocolate brown hair and hazel eyes. She was about 5'7 and had a petite body type. She could have an attitude for miles though, and I guess that's why I was friends with her. She had that demeanour that anytime you were upset she'd bug the hell out of you until you told her what was wrong. It's all out of love of course. But I never expected her to be here, and I couldn't help but to let my mind wonder as to why she was with me so late at night.
"Pssstt... Devanee. Wake up."
"...Huh?" she answered groggliy.
"Why are you here? Where's Devon and Cam?"
"Oh man... God, I didn't want to tell you this."
"What the hell happened?" I snapped, suddenly worried. But I started to wonder who I was actually worried most about.
"Cameron was... In a crash. He was trying to grab a bottle of Vodka out of the backseat of his car when he was driving home and almost got into a head on collision but swerved and hit a tree. He totaled his car and he should be okay. The doctors said he had a broken arm and a fractured nose and was lucky the air bags went off or he'd be pretty messed up."
I momentarily stared off into space, I felt a new feeling trying to wrap itself around my brain and in my heart, but quickly pushed it down.
"When do I get out of here?"
"Dunno." Devanee said with a yawn and quickly fell back to sleep.
I pressed the button on the remote for my bed that said "Call Nurse" and someone came in.
"Yes?"
"When the hell are you guys going to let me out of this prison?"
"All your lab results showed no further injuries so you'll be free to go tommorow."
"Okay. Thanks." I said as she nodded her head and walked out.
Tommorow. Tommorow techically starts at midnight... I let my thoughts think up a sort of escape plan to get out as soon as humanly possible. I looked at the clock beside my bed and saw that it was only 11:38pm. Only 22 minutes and you're "free to go". I let a small smirk creep up my face and let my eyes flutter closed, aiming only to take a small nap and then wake up and leave.
When I woke up I saw that the room was still dark, but I felt like I had slept for ages. I rolled over and saw that the clock read 5:32am. I had slept longer than I wanted, but I was still allowed to leave since it was "tommorow." I hit the "Call Nurse" button and waited for someone to show up. When a new lady that I had never seen before walked in I tried my best to be nice.
"I was told last night that I could leave 'tommorow'. Would you kindly assist me in doing so?"
"Yes ma'am let me get your paperwork." She exited the room and came back about ten agonizingly long miniutes later. She started to pull the needles slowly from my arms and I winced in pain, wishing she'd just rip them out. When she was done I signed some documents and got dressed and immediatley headed to the front offiice, still unsure of my own intentions.
"What can I help you with?" the lady asked.
She told me the room number I asked for and I walked to the room. Once I got there I took a deep breath and opened the door to find it empty. Except a person in the hospital bed.
"Hello..? Who's there?"
I chuckled to myself and turned around and shut the door and flicked on the lights.
"Hey! Turn those off!" The person yelled.
I walked around the corner and leaned against the wall and put on a slight smirk.
"Hey Dallas."
