11- Just some words

Annabeth sighed and rolled her eyes when the elevator doors closed. Stupid mortals and their dumb logic. Just because they were young doesn't mean they didn't belong there. Sometimes she just wished they would see that they weren't children

"Annie, it's fine. It's not their fault." Percy said calmly. "They don't know anything, and you can't blame them for that. They're just mortals."

"I know but it just- urgh! Sometimes I'd appreciate it if they had half a brain."

"I know, right?" mumbled Nico. "It's ridiculous at this point."

Will stood awkwardly, tapping his foot on the floor and staring at the ceiling of the elevator as they went up, trying not to pick at his nails after only one minute of boredom. Seriously, ADHD, why? It's not even that bad, and he wasn't even bored for goodness's sake why would he be bored, yeah he just said he was bored but- oh, the elevator stopped.

The doors opened to bulletproof glass walls, obviously there to prevent any... minor explosions that may occur. The door into the lab was open, and Annabeth led them in, and up to a man sprawled on a chair, only slightly covered in grease, although, to be fair, his standards were low after meeting Leo. For some reason this man struck him as both the concerned dad type and the type to give a small child a blowtorch.

Meanwhile, Tony was trying to come up with a plan to catch Annabeth in the act. He couldn't be absolutely sure her friends knew, but they also might be like her, so he knew he had to take it slow. It might put her in danger if he worked too fast.

....his plan was so far completely unformulated.

....and the elevator just opened.

He leaned his head back and sighed. He had to think, but he'd have some time. They'd be here for a few hours, if he stalled, maybe a bit longer. He'd have to bring them to the main floor. Nobody used it most of the time, but anybody that wanted to come had free reign, and they could meet some of the others. Besides, there wasn't anything overly dangerous on that floor, so if his intern was evil or something, it might not be... as bad? He wasn't sure. Wow he had been thinking for a while. Hadn't something been happening in the real world? He was sure- Oh, yeah. Annabeth and Co.

He came back to earth with a shake of his head after Annabeth cleared her throat particularly loudly. She was standing a few feet from him, the short Italian having taken a seat on one of his lab couches, and the other two stationed behind the girl. Really, there was no other way to describe it, I mean, really, it was as if they had orders to stand directly there. That was slightly suspicous...

Ah.

He'd done it again.

He zoned back in as Annabeth was finishing speaking.

"-so I hope that was okay, but I didn't want to leave them-"

"Yeah, yeah, it's fine," the inventor said, easily understanding the conversation. "I really don't mind. Besides, Peter couldn't make it, so two more can't make much difference."

He hadn't missed the slight snap of anger in her eyes at him interrupting her. Internally wincing at the sign, which might, perhaps, be slightly indicative of a bit of a... superiority complex? He couldn't tell, really... Oh, wait, he should be talking.

"Right, well, I take it your friends might not be as keen to be in the labs as you are. Why don't we go have a snack. Are you hungry?" Nico went to shake his head, while Percy was about to nod, before being interrupted by the billionaire saying, "Well, of course you are. You're teenagers. You're always hungry"

Will had to resist the urge to argue, for correctness's sake, but he shook the thought out of his mind, remembering that this man didn't even know him, and he was a guest. He was also a genius. He shouldn't argue with him, despite his petty need for medical accuracy. His momma taught him better than that. Curse Apollo's brazen personality. (Not really though. Please don't curse him Apollo)

"Follow me." Stonks said as he headed for the elevator. They filed in, and the doors closed.

What would happen next...

Well, for one, shock. It would be very shocking.

And some things might just come to light.

Hiiiii so I'm sorry for temporarily abandoning this, but dw, it was never forgotten! I just got anxiety and felt rly guilty for wasting ppls time... yeah anxiety knows no logic, but hey! I won't completely abandon this for quite some time.

Anyways, yeah, just wanted to post a bit before I lost the rush to do so... just gotta ride the adhd.

Also, what do y'all think abt the lil thought rambles Teeny Stink is doing? Lemme know. Yes I'm projecting, and making him ramble as I do, but I think it's kinda cool to show adhd as something to work around, like an annoying curtain you can't hold out of the way all of the time, but you can live around it. Like it's not you, but rather something external from your mind... yeah more rambling. I'm honestly too tired to decipher whatever this paragraph is so bye :)
