DAY ONE : 16:56 P.M

"hi sir. what can i do for you?" a woman politely asked from behind the desk. her thick canadian accent made donghyuck panic. his brows were furrowed and his hands trembling as he tried to translate it in his head.

mark had been so easy to talk to, even when he spoke in his native tongue.

"i'm korean," he explained nervously, a pink blush spreading on his cheeks. "my english is bad."

"korean?" she repeated, her smile not faltering. "one moment please." the woman turned on her heel before disappearing into the back room, out of sight for the clearly nervous boy.

his foot tapped rhythmically against the marble floor while his hand remained in fists upon the tall reception desk.

"hi," a new voice chimed from the back room. a tall, handsome man appeared in front of donghyuck, his eyes forming gorgeous crescents as he smiled, and his cheeks dusted in a layer of pink, most likely from the laborious work of hotel maintenance. "i'm lee jeno."

the shorter of the pair outstretched his hand and grasped onto the taller's with a comforted smile. he was relieved to hear his native tongue again. "lee donghyuck." they parted again before jeno held his hands behind his back.

"now, how can i help you?" he continued, his eyes glancing to the lady who had taken her seat back.

"i need a room...is that possible?"

jeno's tongue poked the inside of his cheek as he looked the boy up and down, noticing his rather disheveled and unkempt appearance. "not to be rude, but this is an expensive place to stay, do you have the money?"

donghyuck pondered for a moment, his eyes drifting to the wallet that was tucked into his pocket. there had been more than enough money for him to live off for a week if he was careful. besides, the poor boy had searched all the 'cheap' places, finding no availabilities in the accommodations. "yes."

"alright then." jeno rounded the corner of the desk to quickly translate the younger's needs.

in no time, donghyuck had his key, his map and a brochure of activities and dining areas within the enormous hotel.

"so," jeno began as he guided the shorter to the elevator. "what has you so far from home?" he questioned, his eyes still fixed on the silky, scarlet carpets that lined the floors. "i mean you're not the first korean i've come across since moving here, but it's not common."

donghyuck cleared his throat awkwardly, his stomach dropping at the thought of his predicament. "i was here to see someone...but they seemed to have forgotten." he chuckled bitterly, his eyes burning with unshed tears but he refused to breakdown yet again. "so i'm hotel hopping for the time being until i can make enough money to get home at least."

the taller hummed in acknowledgment as they entered the lift. the door closed with a small thud and the two were left in a comfortable silence, the reflective surface of the walls looking back at them, showing the indifferent expressions that both wore.

the silence was filled by the faint singing of the music that the elevator played as they ascended the building to the third highest floor where hyuck's room was located.

the nervous younger fiddled with the leather wallet he held while his mind stuff led to stray from thoughts of the canadian actor.

the man's gorgeous facial structure made donghyuck's knees weak and his smile made him happy. not to mention his nervousness which made the korean coo, and his presence made him relax.

he didn't notice the small grin that had found its way to his face until his guide quickly cleared his throat, grabbing the youngest attention again. "how long are you here for?" he casually asked, trying to ease the slight awkwardness between them.

"until i can get home, i guess." donghyuck looked up at the well-mannered employee, his gorgeous smile returning. "but until then you'll be my translator, right?"

a blush spread across the taller's cheeks before he quickly nodded. "of course. I could also recommend some things for you to do until you leave...if you want, that is," he offered, but he was quick to wave it off, afraid of overwhelming their costumer.

"that'd be nice, jeno. i'd actually really like that," he mumbled after thinking for a moment.

before the elder could add anything, a loud 'ding' resounded around the confined space, making both jump in surprise. soon, the doors slid open, revealing a well-decorated hallway.

the skirting boards were a reflective gold colour, it's rich tone complimenting the white walls, which contained the odd flecks of gold. the deep, red carpet was soft beneath the boy's feet. the whole hallway made him feel like a broke man pretending to be rich - which was kind of true.

"you coming?" jeno called back, already dragging the luggage towards a lovely, oak door with the golden numbers '43' adorning it's unique, dark colouring.

donghyuck snapped from his awestruck form and swiftly caught up to the older who sported a cute smile.

"this is your room," he muttered while scanning the card before passing it back to the younger and pushing the door open. "nice...isn't it?"

to say donghyuck was in shock was an understatement. "it's gorgeous..."
