I also know that this will go against how long titan shifters live, but I really have wanted to do this plot for a long time, like years now.

"H-How could you...?! My family died because of you. Marco...." The words came out in a stoic tone, the soldier's eyes widened and Reiner stepped forward only for the young woman to shove him back

"Darlin'..I-"

"Say you're sorry and I'll take your head off where you stand! You're not sorry...you knew what was going to happen when you came here." She yelled, anger filling her body. The soldiers had fallen in love over the course of joining the Training Corps. When Reiner found her and told her what he was, the young woman had learned she was pregnant with his child earlier that day after weeks of throwing up and she had been planning how to tell him and now all she wanted to do was throw things at the blonde. Reiner wasn't scared of many people and his girlfriend had never been the most threatening person when you saw her, but he had always done what she wanted, so now to see her furious with him, scared him

"______ please come with me, we can marry and have a home like we always talked about. Make lots of babies, just trust me.." He knew the Scouts would find him if he didn't go soon

"I'd rather die than go with you, this isn't a game Reiner. You and Bertholdt KILLED innocent people and you act like it's no big deal! You murdered innocent people and lied to me. Go...before I call for help...and never come back!" She said stepping back and covered her belly with her arms, Reiner's eyes widened as he connected the dots, he spent every morning with _______, holding her hair back and before he could say anything they could hear Sasha and Jean coming to check on her and when she turned to look at the door, Reiner fled through a window.

-Years later-

       Reiner had made a habit of sneaking into the walls when he could to check on ______ and the baby, the first time was right before the baby was born and he only got glimpse of blonde hair. The next time he saw the baby...well his son was when the boy was two, he was figuring out the whole walking thing, he had Reiner's blonde hair with bright e/c eyes that were filled with unconditional love and hope, something Reiner hoped would stay.

The next time his son was about five or so, ______ was bringing him home from school, Reiner had snuck into the house and learned his son was named Isaac Braun, it shocked him to learn ______ actually gave their son his name. He took one of her scarves and left a flower and a toy on the door and hid away from the house, watching as the woman reluctantly picked up the rose and looked around, she knew it was him because he had always left flowers for her to find. He felt his heart stop seeing how the woman had grown her hair out and wore it in a side braid, wearing a dark blue dress and an apron.

       The third time he arrived his son was older, but this time he wasn't alone, there was a little girl holding his hand as they walked to the cabin. Reiner's brows furrowed as his love walked behind them, this time with a swollen belly and he gripped onto the tree so hard the bark broke off of the tree. He knew she had to move on, doesn't mean he had to like it. An older Jean appeared out of the house and greeted the family with a warm smile, his beard had grown in like Reiner's had. ______ kissed her husband before he bent down and kissed her belly and it took the woman a moment to nose the Lily rest on the porch railing and she made an excuse to hang back and took the flower and looked for the man, this time harder than the last. Reiner's heart raced as she got closer, but Jean called her back to the house "Love, what are you doing? Come on." She walked back inside and closed the door.

        The fourth time he came back his son was a soldier in the Garrison, no doubt _______'s doing to make sure he didn't go outside the walls and witness the horrors of their world. Reiner was now in his forties. He found _______, whose hair was starting to show silver, probably from stress, smile lines and crows feet showing when she smiled. He learned Jean died not long after the baby was born on a misson. The girls had both grown into beautiful young women, the elder one working in the Military Police, and the younger one in the Scouts. This time when he went to set the flower on the porch _______ met him with a glare, which softened and she kissed his forehead

"You should go before the kids come home." Reiner left, but not before he hugged the woman.

       The fifth and final time Reiner snuck into the walls was also when he decided to just stay. Most of his friends were dead, and he was tired of running. Thankfully most people just saw him as an old man, now in his sixties. He'd bought a small cabin at the edge of the walls. He was chopping wood one day when he saw her and . She was walking through the woods with a dog and small children when they made eye contact

"Hello..Reiner." She smiled and introduced him to her grandchildren, their grandchildren technically

"Who is this gran-gran?" The tallest boy asked, her had blonde hair and blue eyes like Reiner

"This is an old friend of mine, we were soldiers together in the training corps and in the Scouts. Reiner had to retire after he got hurt." She said and then looked at the man who smiled back at her. It wasn't long before a man's voice called ahead of them and a younger man who looked very similar to Reiner appeared and the children greeted him, some as "dad" and the others as "Uncle Isaac" and Reiner hid his face under his hat not wanting his son to recognize him and he could hear ________ call him a coward in his head. The woman snickered and watched her son and grandchildren

"We met gran-gran's friend from the Military. This is Mr. Reiner." The man's eyes flickered over to the man with his head down. He heard stories growing up of his parents friends. He knew Reiner was his father, his real father, but for years he never acknowledged him as it even though he was stick with his last name. For years he resented his mother for giving him the name, but one day she told him the Reiner she knew and loved was kind and protective

"Wear his name with pride, make the people in these walls remember Isaac Braun as you and not as the son of Reiner Braun, the armored titan." And the more they learned of titans and their world it was an agreement that Reiner did what he was ordered to do. The younger Braun sent his children ahead and walked over to Reiner and stuck his hand out

"Thank you for being my father." The two men shook hands and with that Isaac walked off, a sense of relief lifted from his shoulder

"I spent a long time being mad at you...but it wasn't until I learned what this place was...why you and the others did what you did.." She sighed and looked down

"What I am and what I did...if I could go back none of this would have happened."

"It would have though...if not by you then others." She said and cupped his face

"I'm glad you stayed...you fell in love with Jean and had two beautiful daughters and Isaac...he got to grow up normal and married and had kids. With me you both would be traitors and at home...who knows what would've happened to us." She frowned as the man hugged her tightly. The two stayed like that, and the two spent the rest of their days together, but never like it was. Just friends, ________ made sure he ate though and took care of himself. _______ dragged him along to visit their friends graves and they made Bertholdt and Annie makeshift ones, more one to visit and place flowers and gifts at. They hid their identies so no one knew traitors to the walls were "buried" within the walls. _______ died around the age of eighty-four, peacefully in her sleep, and was buried beside Jeans and when Reiner passed ten years later he was buried in between Annie and Bertholdt's graves, on the other side of ________ and Isaac made sure people knew who they were, not as enemies, but more three kids who were forced to do awful things.

Every year around her anniversary, a single flower was placed atop ________'s headstone and after Reiner died, the same would appear on his grave.
