*Saturday*

"It's emancipation day!" I yelled, plopping on the couch next to her.

"You're adorable. I'm super happy for you Lex." She said, nudging me.

"Thanks Logan." I smiled back.

"So where are Rei and Jen?" She asked.

"Oh, so we have it all planed out. They didn't want to see me until the emancipation at courthouse because I would get way too nervous and chicken out. So Josh was going to take me but since we aren't together, you get to have the pleasure of doing that." I smiled at her. "Speaking of which, we gotta go." I told her.

I got up from the couch and started towards the door but a soft small hand wrapped around my wrist to stop me.

"Hey, you need to take a couple deep breaths for me. Okay?" She chuckled.

"I'm fine. It's fine." I told her.

"Alexis, you are nervous as hell. Breathe." She laughed.

I sighed. She was right, I wasn't nervous, I was terrified. I took a couple deep breaths and we headed out the door.

"It's just really hard not to text her and talk to her, but I appreciate them not wanting me to freak out too much." I said as we stood outside of the courthouse.

"Breathe." She whispered.

As I stood there I watched all these people walk into the courthouse, there were some family members that wanted nothing to do with me, which I found interesting. They didn't even recognize me.

"What's up?" She asked.

"About 10 or some members of my family just walked right past us and into the courthouse, the same ones who wanted nothing to do with me all those years ago. They have no idea that they walked past me." I told her.

"So why are they here?" She asked.

I sighed.

"I'm not just getting the house or apartment. I'm also getting a decent chunk of money, I don't know the amount but I'm sure some rumors are going around about how much and that's why they came today." I told her.

"That's disgusting." She scoffed.

"Isn't it?" I said, chuckling dryly.

"Well, let's head in so all those people can see just how badass and beautiful you have become. Especially in that outfit." She said.

I was wearing a dressy navy blue dress with black heels. I blushed.

"Thank you, Logan. This is no time to flirt with me though." I chuckled.

She held her hands up, surrendering. She chuckled.

We walked in and down the hall the the room we would be in for the next 2 or so hours. I could hear voices inside and a lot of them, it started at Noon and it was 11;30, Rei and Jen better hurry. I took a deep breath and opened the doors, as soon as I did all eyes were on me.

"Ah, good morning Alexis. I am so glad to have you here with us today." The judged smiled at me as we approached the seats up front.

"Thank you, I'm very excited to be here." I told him.

"Do you have your support people with you today?" He asked.

"I have my friend Logan here, and two others are coming." I told him.

"Right. That would be Reilly, Miss. Evans, and Mr. Mitchell - is that correct?"  He asked.

"Reilly and Miss. Evans is correct sir. Mr. Mitchell will not be attending today." I told her.
