After Pidge disconnected, Keith couldn't help but feel alone and panicked.
Sure Lance was there but he wasn't comfortable enough to ask him for help.
Keith felt like he and Lance had done all they could to 'bond' so he was frustrated as to why Red didn't let them leave.
Both of them had apologized and for first time in a while, Keith found himself getting along with Lance.
"This is stupid." Keith mumbled to himself as he paced around the dark space, trying to bring up his body heat.
"Calm down, I know this sucks but you'll hurt yourself if you trip on something again. I'm not sure about you but I can barely see." Lance squinted his eyes, keeping his spot on the floor.
"I thought the cold was Blue's thing? Why is it so chilly in here? Shouldn't the red lion be warm or something." Keith complained, still walking back and forth.
"This is just preference, but I'd rather be a bit cold than have a heat stroke. You heard Coran, we won't die or anything. "
"I'd rather be in the castle where it's nice and warm. Not hot, not cold, warm." Keith scowled, not at Lance but more to himself.
"Your just wasting your energy, come here." Lance patted the area next to him despite knowing Keith probably couldn't see him.
"Fine, just give me a second." Keith reached out his hand to touch the wall, wincing at its cold metal.
He took a few small steps, using what little light he had to see the outline of Lance's head.
When he was at the other side of Lance, he pressed his back against the fridged wall and slide down until he was sitting on the floor.
"Alright Sharpshooter, what's the plan now?" Keith questioned.
"We could play eye spy?" Lance offered.
"That's a great idea, except for the fact that we can't see." Keith mumbled sarcastically.
"It was just an idea, no need to get irritated." Lance frowned.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get snippy. This situation is just stressing me out." Keith admitted.
"Things are gonna be okay. Remember what Shiro always told you. 'Patience yields focus' and right now we both need to be patient."
"Thanks" Keith smiled at the mention of Shiro.
"Come here. " Lance grabbed onto Keith's waist and slide him back into his lap, keeping his arms wrapped securely around him.
"What the hell?" Keith stiffened, unintentionally leaning away from Lance's sudden touch.
"Your obviously not used to the cold. I can feel the floor shaking from how much you shiver."
"I grew up in the middle of the dessert, of course I'm not used to the cold." Keith hissed, ready to push himself away but stopping as Lance's heat soaked into his jacket.
Embarrassed, Keith kept his place in Lance's lap and enjoyed the warmth.
"Is that a little better?" Lance smiled, happy that Keith hadn't gotten up.
"Y-Yeah thank you I guess. Do I really have to sit in your lap though?"
"If you want to keep warm, yes." Lance loosened his arms, signaling that if Keith really wanted to get up he was free to.
Keith stayed.
"See isn't this nice?" Lance poked fun at Keith.
"No." Keith said, trying to get Lance to lay off a bit.
"But we're having a bonding moment! I'm cradling you in my arms." Lance mocked, cuddling Keith further.
"That's it, I'm getting up. I rather be cold than deal with this." Keith blushed, attempting to kick his way out of Lance's grip.
"Awww I'm sorry, I was just messing with you. Don't go, I'm cold too." Lance pouted, squeezing Keith so he couldn't walk away.
"Whatever, just knock it off with the bonding moment thing since you pretend to not remember it." Keith crossed his arms, still placed on top of Lance.
Lance didn't say anything.
"I'm kinda tired." Keith whispered under his breath.
"Didn't you just take a nap too long ago?" Lance asked softly.
"Yeah, but I couldn't sleep for more than a few minutes."
"You heard me and Pidge's conversation, didn't you?" Lance ran his hand across Keith's side letting him know he wasn't mad.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been eves dropping." Keith tilted his head away awkwardly, knowing he'd been caught.
"Hey, don't be. How about you get some sleep and if we get any calls I'll wake you up?"
"Sounds good." Keith yawned, allowing himself to sink into Lance's arms for warmth.
"Sweet dreams Mullet." Lance looked down at Keith, watching as his eyes flickered open a few times before shutting completely.

:3 Another chapter completed. I'm happy to have gotten this far.It is currently 12:32am on a Monday and now that spring break is over, I have school in the morning.
I'm debating whether to write the next chapter or sleep :p
Oh well, here's this chapter's question:
What language(s) do you speak? [I'm pretty sure most of you know English]
(I speak English as a first language and I'm studying my second year of Spanish although I am not anywhere close to being fluent. Next year I'll be learning French and depending on how covid is going, I wanna try joining an ASL club.)
