Prologue

Rustle of trees, heavy breathing and crunch of twigs are the only things that can be heard as she ran off on the winter night inside the forest.

'Why is this happening?'

'No matter what happens Y/N, you must reach the home of your cousins and warn them! That man is hunting down our families' F/N Kamado said in hush whisper

'I will fulfill your last wish father' Y/N thought with determination.

Y/N is on the village, patrolling on the streets at night. She's not a member of demon slayer corps but she's a swordswoman that protect their village while her father is the one guarding their home at the mountain near the village. After all, they belong to a Kamado family and her father, F/N Kamado is the younger twin brother of Tanjuro Kamado. Y/N Kamado have two younger siblings. Kagura Kamado, a 10 years old girl with chuby rosy cheeks and Akihito Kamado, a 13 years old boy with a little mole below his right eye. Y/N Kamado is 16 years old with e/c eyes and all them have dark hair with burgundy tips. When she make sure that there is no demon in their area, she went back home. As she hike through the rocky path on the way to their house, she notice how the forest is silent not even the creaking of woods can be heard.

'Strange..... This eerie silence can only have an ominous meaning'

She can see their small home at the distance. She notice there is something splashed on the window because of the shadow it produce from the light inside the house. She felt a very strong demonic presence making her stop. She walk silently but she almost draw out her sword when someone grab her shoulder from behind.

"Y/N, run. He's here" Her father warn her

"What?" Y/N look at him confused

"The Progenitor of Demons is here. I'll hold him off until you can escape. And don't even think of fighting him together with me. We have no chance against him"

That's when she notice he's bleeding on his side.

"But what about Mother, Kagura, and Akihito?" Y/N asks, worried about her family

"They're..... Dead. I fought a powerful demon on the west side of the mountain and I managed to escape. When I got here, I saw him killed them in time " Her father said then clutch his sword tightly

Horror washed over her when she heard what her father said. And she realized that the dark splash she saw on the window is blood.

"N-no, no" Y/N tried to deny

"Snap out of it!!!" Her father said with clench teeth "We don't have time to deny or mourn over their death! Survival is the most important right now and I know M/N and your siblings will thought the same thing"

"Where will I go?"

"No matter what happens Y/N, you must reach the home of your cousins and warn them! That man is hunting down our families" F/N Kamado said in hush whisper "You don't want it to happen to your Aunt Kie and your cousins don't you?"

She felt her body shake as she thought how her cousins lost the light in their eyes while their blood is spilled on the wooden floor.

'I won't let that happen to them. I lost Mother, Kagura and Akihito, I don't want to lose them too'

"I will fulfill your last wish, father" Y/N bowed while her eyes filled with determination

"Good. Now go"

Tears stream down her face as she run. She is now near another village but she continue on running. While she's in deep thought, something attack her making her immediately come back to her senses and jump out of the way to avoid the attack.
