Spencer and I were in our hotel room. He was getting ready, and as was I. Faint music from the streets down below played. I swayed lightly as I curled my hair, dancing slowly along.

I could hear Spencer humming in the other room. This caused a smile to come onto my face. I peaked my head out of the bathroom to see him sitting on the bed, tying his shoes. He was dressed in a nice black jacket with a dark blue shirt on underneath, black dress pants, and dress shoes, for once. I was slightly sad he wasn't wearing his converse.

"Are you almost ready to go?" I asked softly.

"Mhm," he replied, continuing his humming after his small reply.

I left it at that. I returned back to the bathroom, looking at myself another time. I was wearing a black dress with mid-sleeves that went to about mid-thigh and tights, being normal and plain as ever. I also had on black pumps, and my makeup was the more daring side of me tonight. I had on red lipstick and for once, my winged eyeliner was incredibly perfect. I felt as if I was looking good enough to be seen with Spencer. My hair was in an up-do and the small pieces had been curled.

"Are you ready?" Spencer called.

"Yes," I replied, exiting the bathroom.

A smile ran onto his face.  "You look beautiful as always."

"You always say that."

"Because I always think so."

He came over and kissed my cheek decorously. Then, he took my hand and we walked to the subway. We got on, sitting there quietly.

"I'm exited for this dinner," Spencer whispered in my ear, squeezing my hand.

I nodded at him with a smile. I looked over to my right to see a young family. The parents couldn't have been much older than Spencer and I. The mother had a three-year old boy on her lap. I smiled at them.

"Mummy?" the little boy asked.

"Yes, Daniel. What is it, love?" his mother smiled, her voice having a thick English accent on it.

"That lady is very pretty. I like her hair. Do you think she's pretty?" he giggled, pointing at me.

"It is not very nice to point, sweetie. And yes, she is very pretty," she replied, her tone sweet and quiet.
