Chapter 40

I slowly walked down the stairs. As i walk more and more down i see everyone is there. Everyone changes their gaze at me. 

"Anita?" Arvind's dad lets out. Arvind's dad got up from the couch he was sitting on. 

Everyone stares at me. Harish is standing at the end of the stairs. He looks speechless and choked. As i reach the last step i look at everyone, and then Harish. 

"Harish...I'm so sorry. I didn't mean -" In a second Harish takes my face in his hands, and kisses me. 

"I love you," Harish says slowly backing his head away from me. I see a tear run down his cheek. 

"Sweetie you look wonderful." Arvind's dad says coming nearer. He hugs me.

"You really do." My mum adds. 

"You look like my mummy," AJ says and gets excited. 

"Yeah?" Do i look pretty like her?" I say turning one time. I chuckle.

AJ nods. AJ jumps up and down with excitement. 

Tara and Sneha run over to me and touches my dress. 

"It looks perfect on you," Tara says. 

I smile at Tara.

We all sat down around the table and ate as the first thing. The food was delicious. My parents had made Papdi chaat. They looked stunning and tasted even better. After we had eaten we played some games. It was a lot of fun. It was nice having loved ones around me. It made me feel lucky. 

We were all sitting on the couches. I looked around at everyone. Sneha leaned into Suriya's chest. Despite everything, she had been through she finally found the love of her life. Suriya and I were always going to be Suriya and I. Nothing could change that. I change my gaze towards Karthik. I smiled. I knew Karthik was gonna go places where no one would even try to reach him. Karthik had everything. Tara is a big part of that as well. Tara can be hard but Karthik saw beyond that. I smile as i see them kiss. 

"Yaay!" AJ shouts. I look at AJ. Arvinth helps AJ with his toys. He's showing his marvel collection to him. Arvinth was like a brother to me. He was like a mentor. I don't think i would even be here if it wasn't for him. I feel so lucky to have met him. He literally changed my life. 

I see Krish walking over to Arvinth and AJ. I smile. Krish was something else. He didn't need anyone. I always felt more comfortable with Krish. I feel like i could trust him with my life. Krish would never disappoint me. He's always there for me. I know things are gonna change now that we're all coupled, but i want to make him feel as comfortable as he makes me feel. 

I look over at my parents and Arvinth's dad on the last couch. The thing i was most grateful for was my parents because without my parent's approval i wouldn't have even come this far with Harish. I feel incredibly lucky. I owe it all to my parents. They let go of the biggest norms that people couldn't fall in love with people from different casts, but they said yes to me. I smile as i look at them. They had evolved and changed so much. They were genuinly happy. 

And...how could i forgot Arvinth's dad. He gave Harish and AJ a home. How can anyone ever top that? I feel so grateful that Harish has some family now. I couldn't be happier for both of them. I could tell Harish and AJ were happy when they were with them. I couldn't have imagined how it would have been not knowing that you had someone out there. And for...Harish and AJ. As long as they were with me i would do anything in my power to make them happy. Because i love them. 

As for me...well i taught i had lost everything when i lost Harish. But... suddenly everything changed. God gave me everything back. God protected me and healed me. God made me stronger. God forgave me, and still loved me after everything i had done. God shook heaven and earth just to make me smile agian. So i think i owe it all to god. I love you, god! Thank you for always watching over me.
