"That's it, everything's in order ma'am," the bank manager confirmed, "Not a dime missing." I coudn't believe it. I had finally done it. After struggling for four years, I finally paid off the debts my mom had left behind after her passing. Of course, now I had nowhere to live and no job, but I was still absolutely overjoyed by such a relief.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Kim!", I replied, with a huge grin plastered on my face. After walking out the doors, I thought about where I could spend the night. I never had many friends... or family. My dad left me and Mom when I was about 8 years old, and never came to visit, which was for the best; the bruises on my mom's arms and legs were enough to prove we never wanted him near us again. Besides my mom I only had my best friend Gina, who I've known since kindergarten... and of course my high school sweetheart Felix, but I haven't been in touch with him since our breakup.

~~Flashback~~

~5 years before~

"Alaina, we need to talk..."

"What's wrong Lixie?"

"Well, I'm afraid we have to breakup soon...", I could see the tears in his eyes as the words came out of his mouth.

"W-what? Why?!" I began to stutter, my heart pounding against my chest as I held his hand tighter.

"Basically, now that my dad has retired, I'm gonna have to take over his works... and move away from here."

"But can't we, can't we do a long distant relationship?"

"Not for this job, my love..."

My sobbing only got louder and louder, as he held me close to his chest, and I could feel tears of his own falling down my shoulder.

~~End of Flashback~~

That was it, the end of our relationship. We had been dating since we were 16, and at 19 had to breakup. It has now been 5 years since I last saw him, but to this day he still has my heart...
Anyways, I woke up from my daydreaming, and as I walked down the busy streets, I decided I would spend the night at Gina's and the next day would look for a job. I had a little bit of money in my pocket, just enough to pass at a convenience store and buy some strawberry milk, so I did. Strawberry milk is something I cherish, I've been drinking it non-stop since I was 7, although I barely drank it at the time since my father wouldn't let me buy any. But after living with only my mom I got addicted to it, at this point it's like my signature drink *lol*.
After buying some for me and Gina too (wouldn't want to go empty-handed) I strolled along to her apartment. After a 15 minute walk I arrived, pulling out my copy of her keys and walking in, making myself at home. A couple of hours later she came back from work, and we just binge watched k-dramas for the rest of the night to celebrate.

~The next morning~

After waking up feeling grungy and getting myself ready for the day, I made some breakfast for both me and Gina and stored hers away, 'cause I well know she'll only wake up after 10 a.m. and will be too lazy to fix herself some breakfast.
I finished eating, locked the door and headed out, fast walking so I would be at the bank as soon as it opened. I thought long and hard about it, the best solution I could come up with to survive was to get a loan, as much as I could get. I walked in the almost empty bank, getting in line as usual hoping I could get a loan.

Little did I know what happened next would change my life forever...

Wassup? The name's Pixie (not my actual name tho) and I am really exited about this book. This is the first story I'm posting, heck it's the first one I'm writing! But I hope its not all bad, I have no idea how things work here and honestly it doesn't seem like I'll be understanding so soon lol. Anywho, stay in tune for the next chapter~
