Hey guys I hope you like this story and any feedback is helpful! I do well to criticism so don't be afraid to tell me if i'm doing anything wrong!

y/n= your name

*beep beep beep* Was the sound my alarm made as I rolled over to see it was only 6:30am. I forgot why it was so early, then my thoughts came rushing to my head as I remembered today was moving day.

I groaned and pulled the sheets back over my head, laying there for another five minutes until I finally got up.

I lived alone and quite liked the house I was living in. I just didn't have the money for it after my now ex boyfriend left me here by myself. I didn't know the reason why. Maybe he just wasn't happy anymore. He helped pay the bills for this place and after he left, moving somewhere cheap and affordable was really the only option I had.

I got up and brushed my teeth. All my things were packed up in my car, so the only thing I had to worry about was getting ready and out of this place by 8:10. I questioned if I should dress up for this or throw on a pair of baggy sweats and sweatshirt. The question ran through my mind until I finally came to a conclusion baggy clothes were the best option.

After all, it was the morning and i'm not a morning person. I left my hair in loose curls, falling down neatly on both my shoulders. I looked back at my alarm now seeing the time read "8:30am" Shit I thought to myself. I was supposed to be out of here 20 minutes ago.

Before I left, I took one last look at the place, strolling around through the kitchen all the way to the game room that was filled with so many memories. I felt tears roll down my eyes, as the memories of spending my childhood here flooded through my mind. After all, I did grow up in this place. Moving wasn't something I was used to, and something I didn't think I would have to do.

My parents left me on my own after I turned 18. They said they were tired of living here and left me to take care of this house, which I didn't mind but it got lonely at times, with my ex boyfriend who was always at work, and me who was always at the house doing online classes. Maybe that's why he left.

I'm 21 now, and haven't seen my parents in 3 years so I learned to adjust to not having them around. I wiped my tears away, standing up straight, scanning the place one last time before I walked out the door.

The house I bought was all the way in a place called pineville which people say is supposedly haunted, but I don't believe it for one second.

After what seemed like forever, I finally arrived to my destination. It was an area surrounded by forest. Something I wasn't used to. I looked up to see the exact same tan colored house I bought with a sign that said sold in the front.

I sat in the drivers seat for what felt like forever, not wanting to face my reality, then quickly realizing that's not how life works. I finally took one last deep breath and stepped out of the car walking slowly to the back, preparing myself to haul all my belongings out of there.

It looks like you could use a hand with that said a voice from the distance. An unrecognizable voice. The voice of a woman. It was soft, and calm.

I slowly lifted my head to see the most beautiful woman walking towards me. She had on a pearl necklace that looked extremely expensive, a fancy plain red shirt tucked into some black trousers. Her sand colored hair was fallen perfectly onto both her shoulders.

The more I looked at her, the more I felt my breath being taken away. She just had one of those looks. I didn't want to make an awkward first impression so I smiled back at her trying to hide how nervous I actually was. I watched as she slowly walked up towards me with a welcoming smile on her face.

She was now standing so close, I could smell her perfume. It smelt like a mixture of lavender and vanilla. My two favorite scents. I felt embarrassed standing next to her knowing that I looked my complete worst right now.

"Hi. You don't know me but i'm your new neighbor. I live right next door to you. My names billie, and I promise you i'm not a creep like the others that live around this area."

She didn't look much like a "creep" so that was believable.

I struggled to get a sentence out. "H-hi Billie. I'm y/n Is this place really what they say it is?

"Nice to meet you y/n." not answering the question I asked. Im messing this up already.

The blonde let out a sigh, as I watched her eyes scan the forest that surrounded us.

"Yes. There's been a couple ghost encounters here. I learned to live with it. They're not as bad as you think" She let out a nervous laugh, but hearing that sent shivers down my spine.

Before I could respond, she quickly changed the subject. "Looks like you got some unpacking to do. I can always help."

I didn't want to seem rude having her help me, but again, it would take me forever to unpack by myself.

"You know.. A helping hand wouldn't be all that bad" I shrugged and gave her a slight smile. She looked back at me with the same expression, nodding her head.

We looked at each other for what felt like eternity, but it was only for five seconds, until I snapped out of it and turned my attention towards the back of the car.

My stomach had a tingly feeling while standing next to her, which never happens to me when i'm around anyone. Not even my ex boyfriend gave me this kind of feeling.

"Well let's get to it then" The blonde said in an exciting tone.

I couldn't help but smile only just barely meeting her and already feeling a lot better about this whole moving thing.

Okay that's all for the first chapter! Sorry it's so short but I have a plan for this story so I promise it gets better
