I knew something was off since the moment the blonde stepped foot into my house. Something wasn't right based on the way she was acting, but why? Why would she try and hide it from me?"Billie..what happened?"
Those marks didn't just look like she got them by accident, but instead looked like someone gave them to her, and i'm sure I knew exactly who it was. That horrible man she married.
I put my hand on her shoulder. "Talk to me billie"
She was struggling to wipe her tears away. Her mascara was running, and her makeup was slowly starting to come off. Not that she needed it anyways. She looked up at me, with an ashamed look on her face. Whispering an "i'm sorry."
I reached out for her hand, holding it. "Don't be sorry." She took a deep breath, preparing herself for what she was going to say. I was eager, waiting for an explanation.
I grabbed the tissue box on the table besides me, handing it to her. "Here, take these" She thanked me, and grabbed the glass of water besides her, taking a sip and setting it back down. "Well, you caught me red handed." She let out a nervous laugh, and got back on topic.
"I'm really sorry for lying to you Y/N." She looked into my eyes, like she meant it. Like she was genuinely sorry. "I just.. couldn't bring myself to tell you. I don't like telling anyone my problems.. but I know I owe you an explanation. It's only fair."
I wasn't upset that she lied. I was just worried about her. About what shes been through. I wanted to help her.
She let out a sigh, then continued. "Years ago, when me and my husband first moved here.. we were so happy to be moving in together. We bought the house on our wedding day. Everyone knew us as the high school sweethearts. We were the prom king and queen. I was living a perfect life at the time. He was happy, and so was I."
He treated me how every woman should be treated. Everyone loved him. He bought me flowers, took me on dates, gave me compliments. Well that didn't last very long. He got a new job. It stressed him out so much, to the point he would start getting drunk during the night. Then it got worse, and he'd drink every day. There was always beer bottles scattered around the floor. We would get into fights about it. They weren't physical. We would just yell at each other and sleep in separate rooms.
I didn't think it could get any worse, but it did. The rumors I heard about this place, was coming to a reality. Items started to go missing from our bedroom, and we would hear doors slam shut by themselves at night. My husbands work clothes would even go missing. He always blamed it on me, but I had nothing to do with it.
He would start getting physical every time he lost something that belonged to him. He would throw me down the stairs, pull my hair, call me names, everything you could imagine Y/N. He would threaten to do things to me if I left him. I started seeing spirits shortly after that. I was scared at first, but they aren't as bad as people say they are. I even learned how to communicate with them.
My husband didn't believe me. He didn't believe any of it, so I couldn't talk to him about it. I can't talk to him about anything without him getting angry."
She rolled down her sleeve, showing me the bruise on her arm. That surrounded her wrist. She pointed at it. "This here.. happened last night. My husband got physical with me because he was jealous. Jealous I was spending time with you and not him." She looked up at me, pointing at her face. "This also happened last night. He slapped me for the same reason." She shook her head, whispering "I don't know what to do Y/N..it just keeps getting worse and worse."
Tears filled her eyes. She turned away from me, looking in the opposite direction. Hearing that story broke my heart into a million pieces. I couldn't help but tear up. Tears were streaming down my face one by one, till I quickly wiped them away.
"Come here billie" She started sobbing. Once she turned around, I instantly wrapped my arms around her. I felt more tears leave my eyes, squeezing them shut while holding onto her. She was crying into my arms. Seeing her like this was heartbreaking.
"I'm going to do something about this billie." "I don't know what yet but I promise you, you won't have to deal with him for any longer." She finally pulled away from the hug. "But what if he does something horrible? He threatened to do things if I left him." I began to wipe her tears away. "He's manipulating you. I promise you're not going to be living this life any longer."
She was crying happy tears now."How did I get so lucky to meet you?" she whispered softly. I smiled at her, now making eye contact, as I looked into her mesmerizing golden brown eyes. I felt myself get lost in them. A feeling I always felt while staring at her.
She slowly reached out her hand, brushing her fingertips against my cheek. "You're so beautiful, you know that?" Hearing that sent off a million fireworks inside me
I felt her leaning closer, as her warm breath ghosted over my face before she pressed her lips against mine. It shocked me, and took me a second before kissing back, but once I did, I felt like I was in heaven. I've been waiting for this moment.
Before I knew it, we were laying on the couch, our lips still locked together. she pulled away, and smiled down at me, letting out a quiet laugh. "You have no idea how much i've been wanting to do that". We exchanged smiles, then gazed at each other, not saying a word. Then reality hit me "What if your husband comes here again?" I felt my heart beat speed up thinking about how he could come in at any second.
"You won't have to worry about that. He's on a one week business trip. It's just me." Hearing her say that was like music to my ears. I've never felt more relieved. I watched as her mood changed instantly. Her face lighting up.
"There's the billie I know" Our laughter filled the room, until our lips met once again in a hungry kiss. "You make me so happy" The blonde said in between kisses. I couldn't help but smile. "You make me even happier." I could feel her fingertips gently traveling down my body all the way to the inside of my thighs. I quickly grabbed her hand, as I watched her look up at me with concern.
"I.. I've never done this before. With a woman I mean." I looked down in embarrassment, fiddling with my hands. Then she raised my chin, looking into my eyes. "If you're uncomfortable let me know and i'll stop okay?" I nodded my head, as I watched her continue what she was doing.
