"6:19am" Was the time the clock read. I looked up at it, laying there in the hospital bed. I wasn't able to get any sleep all night. I rubbed my eyes, looking around the room. I sat up. I barely drank anything all day. Water was what I needed.I tip toed over to the entrance of the door, making sure I was being as quiet as possible. Patients aren't supposed to leave their room unless granted permission to. I tried turning the door knob. I cringed while I heard the hinges of the door make a loud creaking sound while opening it.
I looked both ways down the long hallway before stepping out. I walked over to where the kitchen area was. It was huge. I tried finding the refrigerator, where they kept the water, but it was pitch black, and I didn't want to turn on the light. After a while of looking around, I felt myself giving up until I finally managed to find it.
I opened the refrigerator door, searching around for what I was looking for. I then came across a jug full of water. A wave of relief came over me. Mission accomplished. I grabbed the jug, and as soon as I was about to shut the refrigerator, a voice from behind me startled me.
"What do you think you're doing?" My heart dropped. I turned around to see it was just another patient. Her hair was wild. It was a dark color and looked like it hadn't been brushed for days. She was crossing her arms.
"Jesus you gave me a heart attack." I set down the water, grabbing a cup from one of the cabinets. I raised an eyebrow at her. "Shouldn't I be asking you the same thing?"
She skipped over to one of the chairs that attached to the kitchen. "I was just here to get some water." She had an attitude to her.
"Well I was here to do the same thing." I shrugged my shoulders and began pouring the water in the cup.
"Aren't you going to pour me some?" Her voice was high pitched. I could tell she was a lot younger than me. I wasn't in the mood for this
"Commanding aren't you?" I rolled my eyes grabbing another cup from the cabinet. I heard her speaking from behind me once again. "Wait.. I recognize you. You're that one girl from the car accident right?" That question caught me off guard, making me stop what I was doing. My full attention was now on her.
"How do you know about that?"
She got up from the chair, walking over towards me, finishing pouring the glass of water that I didn't fill all the way. "Why are you acting surprised? It's all over the news."
"What do you mean all over the news? I didn't know about this."
She took a sip of water, walking back over to the chair. "Everyone's been talking about it. This is a hospital. There's a TV in like every room, and you just happened to be on it."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How come no one informed me I was all over the news? Does that mean billie was too?
"You didn't happen to see the woman that was in the crash with me on there too did you?"
She looked surprised. She couldn't help but laugh hearing me say that. "You don't know anything do you? Yeah she was on there. Looked like she had a lot of injuries too."
"What injuries?!"
Before she could respond, there were footsteps walking up the hall, coming closer to us. We both looked at each other in fear, trying to hide, but it was too late. The door swung open.
"What do you two think you're doing?" It was nurse clara. She looked at the woman besides me. "How many times have I told you no going out of your room without permission? If I catch you doing this one more time, i'll be locking your door from now on. Get back to your room"
She sheepishly walked past me, shutting the door from behind her, now leaving just the two of us in the kitchen. "What are you doing Y/N?"
"I just wanted water. I'm sorry I won't do it again." My voice was almost at a whisper from how embarrassed I felt. "As long as you don't do it again. Now get back to your room, and no more sneaking around got it?" I nodded my head, walking past her all the way towards my room.
I gently shut the door, and hopped on my bed quickly grabbing the remote. I searched all the channels, looking for the ones that had the news on it. I finally clicked on one. No sign of a car crash I went back, looking for other news channels. I clicked on another one. Still no sign.
Was she lying to me? Or was it a different car crash? I crossed my fingers, clicking on the last one I could find. There it was. The crash. Still on the news.
I watched as the news reporter described what happened. Showing videos of me being taken to the hospital. I was surprised at seeing myself on television.
Apparently, I crashed into someone else's car. I was waiting for a sign of billie, but before I could wait any longer, I heard footsteps walking down the hall once again. Are you kidding me? I shut off the tv as fast as possible, and pretended to be asleep. I heard the door to my room slowly open. I felt my heart beating rapidly.
"Y/N.. Y/N.. Wake up, there's someone here to see you." I pretended to act tired, looking up and seeing nurse clara once again. "Who is it?"
"I don't know but I was directed to come and get you."
I got up out of bed, and put my shoes on. I'm sure it was my mother again. I wasn't looking forward to seeing her at all.
I sighed, following nurse clara over to the lobby. I looked down, not wanting to make eye contact with my mother. I took little steps while walking there, trying to slow time down. We finally made it to our destination, I didn't dare to look up.
"Oh my god Y/N" That voice was familiar. Could it be? I looked up, to my surprise not seeing my mother, but seeing billie standing straight across the room from me. Tears of joy escaping her eyes.
Well there's chapter 12 I believe. I'm sorry if there's any mistakes or errors, it's currently really late for me, but I hope you enjoyed this chapter! I'll be updating very soon, xx
