We were both shocked. Still standing on the top of the stairs looking down at him. I was having the best night of my life and this guy i've never met had to ruin it? Who does he think he is acting like he can come into my house uninvited?

"W- What are you doing here..?" The blonde said with a slight stutter. She was scared. I could tell by the look on her face and her shaky voice. But why would she be scared of her own husband?

The man cleared his throat. He still had an angry look on his face that he had since the moment he walked in. "And what do you think you're doing?" He said through gritted teeth. He talked loudly. It took me by surprise how angry he was. Even though none of it was billies fault.

"You locked me out of the house.. again." "I waited there and you never answered." Her whole body was trembling slightly. I gently squeezed her hand giving her a sign that it was going to be okay.

"Well you know what to do when the doors locked. You KEEP KNOCKING you don't go into some random strangers house. This isn't the woman I married. Who knew you could be so stupid!"

His voice was now raised even higher. How could he even talk to her like this? I watched a single tear fall from billies eye as she quickly wiped it away.

"This isn't any stranger. She's the new neighbor. Who just moved in. I met her when she got here. I helped her move bo..boxes a-and.." More tears escaped her eyes. I know she couldn't speak for herself so I knew I had to say something.

"Look, I don't want any trouble. I met billie this morning. I just moved in, and she wanted to help out. When billie left, you weren't answering the door so she decided to come here. Where else was she going to go? It was freezing cold outside so I don't see what the proble-"

He cut me off before I could even finish. "Who do you think you are.. talking to me like you have a say in all this? I don't even know who you are." Well didn't I just tell you who I was?

Before I could even respond, he started talking again. But this time to billie. He didn't bother to hear what I had to say at all. I was right about one thing. He was a prick.

"I looked for you everywhere. There was no sign of you. I figured you abandoned me because that's what you women do. Then I saw a car parked outside of the house that hasn't been sold in forever, and decided to take a look and well here you are. With a complete stranger."Did I have to make it clear to him again that I wasn't a stranger? He didn't even care about what I had to say.

"Y/n is no stranger. Yes, we just met but we got along instantly. You didn't know that because you were too busy drinking. I had no choice but to come here."

Her voice was a little more confident this time. It made me feel good that he could hear that from billie instead of someone who he wasn't going to bother listening to.

"I don't care who she is to you. We're leaving. NOW" The level of his voice made my body jump. Me and billie looked at each other.

I looked at her full of concern, but she looked like she was used to it. She gave me a tired, sad look. My heart broke for her looking at her in that moment.

Who knew the kinds of things he did to billie behind closed doors. By the way he spoke to her, I knew it was nothing good.

If billie didn't listen, I know things would probably start getting out of hand. I wanted to do something, say something so bad but it wasn't my decision. This was her husband we were talking to. I didn't have a say in their relationship, and God knows what he was capable of.

I watched as billie slowly walked down the stairs. Her husband watching her every move. Looking her up and down. I was disgusted by the way he was looking at her.

She slowly turned her head around to look at me, while reaching the last step, and mouthed an "i'm sorry" Before she turned away again.

She walked towards her husband slowly. His angry expression instantly left his face as he replaced it with a smirk. "Just wait until you find out what your punishment is going to be once we get in the bedroom tonight."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It almost made me want to throw up. I felt sick. He grabbed her ass, then walked out, slamming the door shut.

I stood there. With an almost empty feeling. What the fuck just happened? I wanted to go after her. Give her a hug and tell her it was going to be okay.

But I couldn't. She didn't tell me her husband was this bad. She barely talked about him all day. Only when she was drunk.

My heart felt heavy. Not just because of the kiss that didn't happen, or the fact that she left. But seeing billies husband treat her with so much disrespect in front of my own eyes. I couldn't bare to think what he did to her while they were alone.

I turned around from where I was standing and slowly walked to my bedroom. I felt tears roll down my eyes. I was tired, and upset. The perfect day got ruined so fast. I threw myself on the bed. I lay there while minutes passed by, so many thoughts running through my mind. But one thought got my attention. Billies number

I had her number. I completely forgot I had billies number. I got up as fast as I could and reached for my sweatpants that were on the bedroom floor, searching the pockets for the piece of paper she wrote.

There it was. The scrap of paper with her perfect handwriting on it.

I walked back to my bed and got my phone out as fast as I could. Debating if I should text her. Ask her if she was okay. I was thinking about it for a long while before finally coming to a conclusion. Well why not? What if she's in trouble?

I took a deep breath and picked up the courage to type in the written number.

me: Hey. Is this billie?

I hit the send button, and felt my heart drop as soon as I did. It was nerve racking sending the first text. I lay my phone besides me, eagerly waiting for a response. 5 minutes later, I felt my phone buzz. I picked it up as fast as I could.

Billie: Yes, it's me. Are you okay y/n? I'm so sorry about my husband.

me: Don't be sorry. It's not your fault. Most importantly, are you okay?

Billie: I'm fine.

me: Why do I have a feeling you're lying?

Billie: I'm not, don't worry about me okay? Get some sleep it's late.

me: Are you sure you're okay?

Billie: I'm too tired to explain. Do you mind if I come by tomorrow so we can talk?

The thought of seeing her put a smile on my face.

me: Sounds good. Come by whenever you want ill be here.

Billie:Okay, great. Goodnight y/n

me: Goodnight billie. See you tomorrow.

Okay, now we know billies husband is not exactly the best.🙈 I'm going to update very soon after this!<3 I have a plan on where this is going to go. it's currently really late where I am so if there's any errors i'm sorry!
