As the five friends fly to Tokyo, Camila tries to recover from what happened at Katerina's manor and the surprise attack by Niklaus.
Camila can still feel his lingering presence on the plane, in her mind.
She holds herself and shivers, staring at the chair that Niklaus tore in half.
"Lauren... It can't have been easy to see him again. Are you okay?" Camila looks at the green-eyed girl.
Lauren reins in her anger, taking a deep breath as her eyes go distant, haunted.
"I will be. Once he's dead," Lauren says.
She opens a cooler in the back of the plane and comes back with blood packs for everyone.
When she hands one to Camila, she takes it reluctantly, knowing it won't taste as good as when it's fresh.
The others drink from their blood packs, their wounds switching together, their bruises receding.
Sighing, Camila begins to drink her blood pack silently.
The blood is thicker and colder than she's used to but it does the trick.
The wounds and aches throughout her body begin to dissolve away, leaving Camila feeling stronger.
"Are you positive about this psychic vampire, Shawn?" Lauren looks at the boy.
"Pretty positive. Niall mentioned him enough times for the name to stick. Goten is the only vampire in Japan that's not part of The Five," Shawn says.
"Who are The Five?" Camila questions.
"All turned by Niklaus. They established rule in Japan while the Order of Dawn ruled Europe and Niklaus created his shadow kingdom in America," Zayn explains.
"They began to gather power in the late 1800s. Creating a safe place for themselves while keeping other vampires out," Lauren adds.
"Keeping out? Why?" Dinah asks.
"Unlike Niklaus, they don't believe in turning. Their number one rule is to not make any new vampires or to invite those who might cause trouble," Shawn answers.
"Japan is their haven. Secure. Strong. Impregnable," Lauren says.
"They handle everything from top-secret government decisions down to which potholes need to be filled," Zayn says.
"My mentor, Niall, made me promise I'd never go to Japan. He said they would kill me if I ever set foot there. I... Always dreamed of going there. I just thought it would be with Niall. Or my parents," Shawn says as he laughs bitterly. "I guess that ship has long since sailed," He whispers.
Shawn swallows nervously as Lauren briefly lays a hand on his shoulder.
"I wish we'd gotten the chance to meet Niall. He was so special to you Shawn... And it sounds like he was such an incredible man," Camila says.
"He was rough around the edges, a surly mean drunk, but under all that gruff was the heart of a good man. He was there every step of the way after he turned me. He taught me about my new senses, my new life. He taught me how to wield a sword. And then he was gone. There was just a pile of ash in his place... A pile of ash and a stake. And I... I never got to say goodbye," Shawn says.
"Shawn..." Camila frowns.
A silence falls over the group, everyone lost in their thoughts.
Camila bites her lower lip and takes a moment to look out the window.
