"W-What?" I stammered.
"Yes, I'm sorry Eve! But that's the only way." Anna said.
I shut my eyes tight trying to take in everything she just told me. Nathan crept up from behind and snaked his arms around my waist. He kissed my shoulder and mumbled something in my ear. But I wasn't listening to pay attention.
After a long thought I made my decision. "I'll do it." I said. Anna's head lifted up in a second and she gave me a very surprised look.
"It's a huge risk." She told me. "She will have the same powers as you. She will be able to do everything you can do. If she uses it for wrong stuff, then it's not going to be good." She explained.
"She's my mother! I can't watch her suffer in front of me when I can do something."
"Alright. It's your choice!" She said.
"How do I do it?" I asked.
"When she's exactly at the brink of death, you have to feed her a few drops of your blood. And then you have to wait for her to die. Get her out of the hospital and take her home. In a few hours she should start transforming into a hybrid."
I took a deep breath and thought it through again. I really wanted to save my mother so I decided to do it. "Thanks Anna." I weakly smiled and gently removed Nathan's arms from around my waist. I took hold of his hand and we started walking to the car again.
Anna appeared from nowhere and that really scared Nathan. I had a little laugh at his reaction.
"I'm bored so I'm going to help you guys." She said.
"Ok." I chuckled.
We reached the hospital in no time. And that's when I realized that Charlotte was still there. I quickly turned to Nathan.
"Nath, keep Charlotte occupied and away from Mum's room." I said.
"How exactly am I supposed to do that?" He asked.
"I don't know! Just do something!" I whined and he eventually agreed.
We walked to the room and I waved at Charlotte. "How is she?" I asked her.
"Terrible." She whispered.
"She'll be fine." I hugged her. And then I gave Nathan the expression to take her away. He took a big breath and came towards us.
"Erm.. Charlotte, do you want to get something to eat. You look tired." He said awkwardly.
"Sure." She smiled.
"Alright, wait by the car, I'll be there in a few minutes." Nathan smiled back and she walked away.
"Where are you taking her? I need you to be there when getting mum out." I said.
"Yes I know! Just call me when you're doing it, I'll be there." He comforted me. "And be careful!" He added and pecked me on the lips before walking away.
I opened the door and let Anna in as well. She was helping me when I go through the feeding part.
"Mum." I whispered to my mother.
"Yes Ev?" She asked.
"Anna cannot heal you!" I began.. "But all we can do is turn you into one of us." I stammered. My mother gave a shocked expression.
"Is there nothing more you can do Eve?" She asked.
"No." I shook my head while looking at the ground.
"Go ahead then." She said and I looked at her confused.
"Are you sure?" I questioned.
"Yes! I don't want to die." She said and I looked at Anna. She nodded her head and we were about to execute the plan.
