"Tell me about my new kids," Bombay said as he and the rest of the team stood around Tibbles and watched as the five new recruits made their way onto the ice.

"That's Luis Mendoza," Tibbles said as he pointed out a tan boy wearing a blue jersey. "He's from our Miami Club. A real speedster. Incredible skater. I clocked him at one point nine seconds, blue line to blue line."

"Look at that, Carly. Finally got some more speed out on the ice with you," Bombay said and nudged Carson with his elbow. Carson smiled as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Good-lookin' skater," Connie said and looked over to Carson. Carson nodded and the two turned back to watch Luis skate around the ice.

"Very good-lookin'. What do you think, Guy?" Averman antagonized as he looked over at him.

"Shut up, Averman," Guy said and rolled his eyes as he elbowed him in the chest. Carson chuckled when Averman slowly fell to the ice.

"He has one minor problem," Tibbles said and Carson turned to watch Luis hit the boards and fall. She cringed and closed her eyes at how hard he hit the boards. "Has a little trouble stopping."

"That's my extra speed? At least I can stop," Carson said as she watched the other four recruits skate over to help him up. Guy and Averman snickered at her comment and covered their mouths to hide their smiles.

"You think you can handle helping me get him to stop?" Bombay asked and looked down at Carson.

"I can try, I guess. No promises though," Carson said. She backed up and grabbed Guy's cheeks and squeezed them once before skating over to Fulton. She poked Charlie's stomach and pinched Adam's arm on her way past them and laughed at the offended looks on their face. Carson stopped beside Fulton and wrapped one arm around his shoulders and the other around his arm.

"Yee-haw!" the tall boy in a cowboy hat yelled with a thick country accent. He pulled off his cowboy hat and tossed it to the side before putting his helmet on. "How is everyone? Y'all ready to play some puck?"

"Hey, look, it's Hopalong Gretzky," Jesse said as he pointed at the country boy and the rest of the team to laugh.

"That's Dwayne Robertson from Austin," Tibbles explained as he looked at Bombay before turning back to Dwayne. Dwayne tossed the puck up with his stick and bounced it off the blade of his skate before continuing to bounce it off of his hockey stick. "He's the best puck handler I've ever seen."
