Carson tied the hair tie around the bottom of Connie's braid and walked over to Fulton to stand in front of him. She grabbed the athletic tape from his hands and continued taping his wrists. The team was sitting around the locker room and laughed as jokes were thrown before going back to their conversations.
Everyone paused when a dejected Jesse and Peter walked into the locker room and sat beside Terry. Averman stood up and told a joke and everyone continued with their conversations.
"So," Fulton started, glancing at Charlie and turning back to Carson when he saw him cheering with Connie and Guy, "want to catch a movie tomorrow?"
"What time?" Carson asked, tearing the tape off and flattening it against his wrist.
"Whenever you want, bubs" Fulton responded, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear and pushing her braid behind her shoulder.
"Guys," Connie said, gaining the attention of Guy, Charlie, Fulton, and Carson, "one more win!" she said and held up a finger.
"Oh yeah!" Charlie exclaimed as he pumped his arms in excitement. Carson turned to her brother and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Hey," she whispered, "want to go get pizza after the game?"
"We had pizza for lunch today," Charlie whispered back, tilting his head to look at Carson.
"What about ice cream, then?" Carson asked.
"We always get ice cream after games," Charlie answered.
"Well, I'm running out of things to do after games," Carson whispered before standing up straight and picking her jersey up from the seat beside Charlie. She pulled her jersey on and sat down when Bombay pushed the locker room door open and walked in.
"Hey, why aren't you guys in uniform? We have warmups in half an hour," Bombay said as he walked over to Jesse and Peter. The two boys looked at each other before looking down and ignoring their coach. Bombay stared at them for a moment and turned to address the rest of the team.
"All right everyone, listen up!" he started and paused until the team stopped talking. "I got some good news. We're getting a new player, Adam Banks."
