y/n pov:

we were running up the stairs, like fast. no one knew we were awake. we didn't want to get in trouble. miles was behind flora and i.

we finally made it to his room and all flopped onto the bed. ''i am never getting snacks at midnight again'' flora said, '' flora,again? have you ever gotten food in the middle of the night before?'' flora nodded slowly. miles smiled, ''im just kidding, i do it all the time. but i have never been this tired running up the stairs,'' i nodded. ''what are we waiting for, let's dig in!"'

we were watching a movie on miles laptop. we were watching the conjuring. flora was watching something on miles phone. there was a jump scare and we both hugged each other. we looked at each other and let go quickly, it was super awkward after that.

miles liked me, and i liked him. but that's something we both didn't know about each other. we finished all the snacks we brought, like all there was left were wrappers. like was 4 am now and we were still wide awake. '' miles, y/n'' ''yes'' we both said in sync. ''can we build a fort?'' miles got up and picked flora up, '' of course we can. lets go get blankets from my closet,''

i got up next to miles and we got 2 big black blankets and got the chair that was on his desk. we needed another chair, there was one in my room. miles said he would go with me to get it because i was still scared.

we both walked in with him in front of me. we ran to the chair and he ran back to his room with it while i closed the door and ran back. flora was confused but brushed it off. we made the fort, watched more movies, and had small conversations here and there. we didn't even realize the sun was coming up. we saw someone walk into the room it was mrs.grose. she was in shock when she saw the mess we made. '' guys! we have a guest coming over! i have to start making food. clean up please!'' we quickly got up and cleaned the mess we made.

i went back to my room and got ready. i put on a medium green dress with some white flowers on it. i put on some white shoes and a butterfly necklace. when i was doing my hair, miles came into my room. '' hey y/n, what are doing?'' '' oh hey, im about to put on some makeup,'' miles looked at me like i was crazy, ''y/n, you don't need makeup. flora and i know you are beautiful,'' i blushed when he said that. '' thanks i guess,'' '' your welcome, im gonna stay here because im bored,'' i nodded and kept doing what i was doing.

my bed was right next to my desk, so he was basically right next to me. i was putting on blush and miles said, ''y/n don't put that on. i always see you blush,'' i knew he was teasing me because he notices it. i was turning red.

''see, i told ya'' i was putting on mascara and some pink in between my lips and lip oil. i grabbed a white headband and put it on my hair. i turned and miles looked up from his phone. his eyes got big, ''w-w-wow'' i smiled ''y-you look good,'' ''thanks-''

''Y/N! MILES! COME DOWN!'' we got up and walked downstairs. i saw my worst fear. my jealous cousin, jess.

she has always been jealous of what i had and tried to take everything away. i sometimes let it happen when i was weak. she made me feel weak sometimes and made me feel insecure or worthless. she used to make fun of the way i looked, until the end of middle school. she got jealous because i was maturing and i was hot- scratch that, i am hot. (yes queen) she got mad when her crush liked me. she dug her nails into my arm when she found out.

she saw me and said, '' hey y/n! so nice to see you. wow, you look great i guess,''

miles whispered into my ear, '' y/n, do you know who she is?'' i sadly nodded.'' shes my cousin, she gets jealous about everything. so just know, if anything goes missing, its from her,'' miles laughed. she looked over at us again, and finally saw miles. she walked closer to us.

''y/n, who is this?'' she said while twirling her hair. '' im miles, her bestfriend''he put his arm around my shoulder. she looked jealous already.

''oh, im jess. im sure y/n has told you alot about me!'' she said smiling, ''actually , y/n has never mentioned a jess, right y/n?''

'' mhm, i have never told you about anyone named jess!'' at this point, she was looking at me with her dark, dead eyes. '' now y/n,lets go get a snack, shall we?'' i nodded and we walked away.

a few hours later, we were in my room and i was telling miles about how much i hate her and how she makes me feel. ''y/n, you mean alot to flora and i, okay! we lo- care about you so much. jess is a bitch who doesn't know what a good person you are.''

i looked at him with all my love, and heart. i did something i never expected to do to miles, i gave him a tight hug. we were pulling away, looking like tomatoes, when we heard the door slam open.

'' hey- oh, hey miles,'' it was jess.

we both rolled our eyes as she kept talking. ''so, im gonna stay here tonight-''

'' who the hell let you stay here?'' miles said, '' kate, i mean, i am the best niece she h-''

'' jess, we all know my sister praises nia, i do to. so stop acting like your the favorite,'' she looked shocked. '' anyways, i was thinking i could sleep in your room, miles,'' miles was disgusted.

'' no, you can sleep on the couch,'' '' what! no! kate said i can sleep in flor-'' '' flora's room is flora's, not yours. my house, my rules.''

'' then why does y/n get her own room'' '' because she lives with me now? and because she is my bestfriend,'' '' this is not fa-'' '' YES IT IS! miles said take the couch,'' '' now jess, y/n and i are gonna go hang out in my room. ask mrs.grose for a blanket and sleep on the couch,'' miles grabbed my hand and we walked out of there.
