Years ago, a beautiful castle of life stood tall and welcoming for all. The prince, Dream, who resided in the castle was simply beautiful. Wavy blonde hair, shiny eyes, tall, and built perfectly. He was adored by many people, as he always hosted parties and balls for people of the villages surrounding to attend. However, Dream was selfish. He would mock those who weren't capable of good things. He degraded those with little to no power. Power was of great importance to Prince Dream, and he was always a fan of laughing at the ones who lacked it. He was a gorgeous sight, but his heart was nothing but cold.
Unfortunately, people never seemed to care for the cruel man he was. They were aware, but nobody dared to get on the bad side of the very person who could ban them from the beautiful lands they lived in if they merely stepped out of place. Most usually ignored him, making their lives significantly easier. Little towns that surrounded the big castle were filled with people who were very much the opposite of the Prince. Kind little people, with generous hearts. The kindest of all towns was the little town of Terraville. Only a few people called the wooden town home. Phil, who had built the town, was the eldest. He had three sons, Wilbur, Techno, and Tommy. Wilbur, his oldest son, had a very young son called Fundy. They were some of the only people living in the town, it was barely even considered a town then. However, Prince Dream admired the wits of Mr. Phil, and the brilliant children he had. A few other residents of Terraville were the beautiful Niki, the silly Connor, and the joyful Karl, alongside his closest friend, Alex Quackity.
One fateful day, Prince Dream had invited the residents of Terraville to join him for a small party. Due to work, Phil had to stay home. Technoblade and Tommy decided to stay home and assist their father, while Wilbur, young Fundy, Niki, Karl, Connor, and Quackity decided to join the Princes' festivities. Phil bid his fellow villagers goodbye as the group hopped on horses to see the Prince. The land around the castle was vibrant, being home to flower gardens and incredible scenery, even if today was rather gloomy, as storm clouds were quickly approaching the castle. It was strange, and a bit concerning to them why it was about to storm during the summer, but this worry was pushed to the side. Wilbur, who was leading the group to the castle, was following the map his father gave to him, since Phil only trusted a few with that map, for it also explained the way to his secret nether portal, just a few miles beyond the grand castle. Looking up from the map, Wilbur recognized the familiar fork in the road, leading his friends straight through the middle, eventually hopping off their horses to walk through the beautiful gates that surrounded tall, stone towers. Prince Dream stood at the enterance, glorious robes and all, staring at the group with a small grin on his freckle dusted face.
"Good afternoon, Prince Dream," Wilbur said as he took a bow, "It's been a while."
Prince Dream nodded, "Hello, Wilbur. Nice seeing you, where is your father?"
"Unfortunately, he has a load of work to do today," Wilbur explained, "My brothers stayed home with him to assist, is that an issue?"
"No, not at all, just curious," Dream said, "Well, come in, everyone. I'm sure everyone might be hungry, I guess."
"Thanks for having us, Prince Dream," kindly said Niki. The others followed Wilbur, who was following Dream to the dining room. The group was familiar with the castle, always aware of where they were and were not allowed to be. Although the Prince was kind to them, they still feared to ever cross a line with him. His anger was just like a volcano, the explosions of it were horrific.
For hours, the group ate, and chatted amongst themselves. Dream met Fundy, Wilbur's son for the first time, quickly making it clear he wasn't a fan of the small child. Karl and Quackity cracked some jokes with Connor at the other end of the table, sometimes laughing so hard they would fall off of their chairs. Dream would sneer at them, trying his best to compose himself from shouting at them, even if the joke about Quackity's mother was hilarious. As time passed, the people became increasingly aware of the lighting and thunder that boomed outside, the castle became a bit colder than usual due to the droplets of water falling from the sky at a steady pace.
Dream had been able to even control his temper that night, until a knock at the castle's front door was heard.
"Ah, no worries," Dream took a deep breath, "I'm sure it's just the wind, I'll go see."
Dream stood up, and walked swiftly out of the dining room, leaving the door open behind him. The people of Terraville looked out the lovely door frame as Prince Dream opened the humongous entrance of the castle.
"Hello, there, young man.." a feeble voice expressed.
"Hello? What do you want?"
The hunchbacked lady looked up, "I just was walking home to my village, and I got caught in this storm.."
"Okay?" Dream huffed, "That's your problem."
"I was just wondering, sir," the lady quietly said, "If you could let me stay inside until this rain clears up, perhaps?"
Dream let out a harsh wheeze, "Seriously? You think you can walk up and as the Prince of this land to just let you in? I haven't even seen you in my life, gross, old hag!"
The women frowned, "Now, is that a way to treat people? Now, perhaps let me in to stay for a bit?"
"No, old lady," Dream rolled his eyes, "Get lost."
Little did Dream know, that old lady was truly a gorgeous sorcerer. As she revealed her beauty and power, Dream almost instantly got on his knees, begging for the sorcerer to forgive him for treating her in such a way, but the sorcerer didn't care.
"Oh, Prince Dream," the loud voice expressed, "May you live with this curse until someone can learn to love you, for not everyone could never grow to love a selfish monster."
"Monster?" Dream questioned, tears pricking his eyes, "I'm not a monster, I'm just a dude!"
The sorcerer chuckled, "Take a look at yourself, Prince Dream."
A giant light grew in front of the sorcerer, as a mirror appeared. Dream stared at himself, absolutely mortified. His gorgeous hair was platinum white. His once perfectly tanned, light skin was now the same shade as the fluffy, white clouds of the sky. He felt himself grow a few feet taller, seeing himself huge. His face was distorted, forcing him to look away from the reflection of himself in the mirror.
"Now, you're just as ugly as your heart is," the sorcerer frowned, "The only way to break this curse is someone being able to bring beauty into your heart."
"But- but.." Dreamed stumbled on his words, terrified of himself.
Dream looked back up, to see the sorcerer forming white, magical swirls around the guests from Terraville. Shrieks and cries were heard as they were engulfed by light. A couple clanks, and bumps onto the floor, appeared a few, normal, household items with a living being controlling them.
"Oh my lord," shrieked Karl, as he looked at himself and his friends.
Wilbur was stunned, his eyes as wide as ever, "What on Earth, lady?! What did we have to do with any of this, I have a family! I have a son!"
The sorcerer retracted her magical swirls, as they glided back into the palms of her giant hands, "The whole castle is a curse, Dream must now live with the guilt of trapped you all here, too."
"This is unfair!" shouted Niki, "This is completely uncalled for!"
The sorcerer ignored her, looking straight into the broken eyes of the once beautiful Prince, "In ten years time, you will all be stuck like this for eternity, unless you find the one to bring out true beauty and love into your heart."
"All this, for not letting you in?!" Dream protested.
The sorcerer laughed, "Oh, dear. You have always been so cruel to others, think of all those people who shunned, forced out of the lands, just because they didn;t fit your expectations of a person."
"They probably deserved it!" said the platinum white man, remembering all those he had called ugly, or laughed at because of how much money they had.
"Nobody deserves to be treated like nothing," the sorcerer smirked, "Good luck, I hope you find a good soul to assist in bringing you back. Ten years time."
The sorcerer then disappeared into thin air, dropping a large hourglass, filled with neon green sand.
Dream noted it most likely is all the time he has left.
"Good going, Dream," muttered Quackity, "I never liked you!"
Dream looked at the items, and looked down at his hands.
Who would ever think to give someone like him a chance to make himself better?
He looked out of the open entrance, seeing snow beginning to fall, already dreading these years of being cursed inside of here, basically alone, and even though the little bits of green sand were falling from the top of the hourglass to the bottom, time and age for everyone in that castle had come to a halt.
