We all walked back into the compound and I noticed everyone was still keeping their distance and watching Loki.

"So Thor."
I looked up at the towering blonde God.
"What exactly did your brother do?"

"He killed many mortals, caused a lot of terror and even let the Frost Giants into Asgard. Once he even tried to enslave Earth."

"What can I say, I had a troubled youth."
He half smiled but went straight back to his grim scowl.

"He's a liar and a trickster Cass."
Bucky added into the conversation.
"From what they all said it wasn't even that long ago, 2012 I think. Hardly what you'd call 'youth'. Especially for a God."

Throughout this entire conversation Loki's face never faltered. He kept his head up high and pride in his steps, with an emotionless look.

"Well that's enough talk about Reindeer Games! I've got a date with Pepper and I'm sure you all have less interesting things to do."
Tony walked off to what I assume was his room.

"I'll you your room."
Nat gestured for me to follow and I did. We walked down quite a long corridor to a room that was almost at the end.
"This is one of the rooms closest to Bucky, he's just across from you."
She smiled.
"We thought it would be nice if you'd be able to be close to your brother."

"Thank you Nat."

She nodded and turned to walk off.
"Oh, and if you even think about hurting us... Wanda will know."

"Noted."
I nervously chuckled and opened the door.

It was a plain room but I'm sure I'd be able to put my own flair on it in no time. Well, once I actually had belongings I'd be able to.

I sat on my bed and sighed. When I set out to find Bucky I never imagined so much would happen in a short space of time.

"Hey Cass"
My brother smiled as he walked in an sat next to me.
"It's a lot, isn't it?"

I nodded.
"All the new technology was bad enough but this is taking the piss."
I sighed.
"I can't believe I was viewed as a threat just because of tall, dark and weird."

Bucky laughed.
"That's one way to describe him. He never really gets any easier to put up with. I saw the way you looked at him. If looks could kill he would be dead. I made sure they put him at the other end."

I laughed a little.
"Thank you Buck."

He smiled.
"Well I'm sure you're bored of looking at a plain room, so if you want I can show you around the city?"

"I'd like that."
I smiled and followed Bucky out of the compound.

....

I'd been at the compound for a month now and everything appeared to have calmed down. I actually had a wardrobe full of clothes and managed to make my room my own! Rather than the dull and grey room I was first presented with I now had some black and red bedding, repainted the walls to a deep purple, changed the floor to black carpet, hung up some LEDs and had so many soft blankets.

As much as I loved life before Hydra, the 21st Century was amazing when it came to comfort. My room even had an en-suite so I actually got privacy. The food also seemed so much better too, but also a lot more unhealthy. But the Pizza was astounding!

I was actually starting to get close to Nat and Wanda and I was enjoying spending time with my brother. Although, it did still creep me out how Wanda could get into my head.

During the time I'd spent here I'd met basically everyone else. Vision, Peter, Strange, Sam, Scott, T'Challa, Bruce, Clint and Pietro. (A/N Yes he's alive in this. Timeline isn't quite accurate but that's the fun of AU Fanfics.) Only some of them were here often as I'd only met T'Challa once with Strange and Scott a few times. Everyone here was so unique it definitely made life more interesting.

I also spent a lot of time with Loki, he was actually rather growing on me. He brought out my mischievous streak and it was actually rather fun. I'd play harmless practical jokes on the others. Some found it entertaining others didn't, Bucky especially liked it as he said it reminds him of our childhood. Only this time I was using my power to play jokes, like gently vibrating the inside of a coke can so it fizzed over when opened.

Surprisingly Loki wasn't always the irritating cocky ass he presented himself as, he can be pretty sweet. Well, towards me at least.

To everyone else he's an emotionless, cold, arrogant jackass. He started that way with me but the longer we sparred together he seemed to warm up to me. Well, at least sometimes anyway.

He still scoffs at me like I'm beneath him, calls me Mortal and yet at the same time taunts me and smirks.

Speaking of, I was on my way to the gym to do some sparring with Loki.

"You ready? I'm not going to go easy on you."
He smirked.

"Absolutely. Time to see if you really can teach an old god new tricks."
I grinned as I stretched out my arms.

We traded blows for a while, though none quite hitting.

Until I saw my opening.
He went to punch but left his side open, which I punched and it caused him to stumble for a second so I kicked and he stumbled back into the wall.

"Tsk. Lucky shot."

"Liar."
I smirked.

He smirked back but this time it was a different smirk. It wasn't cocky or jokerish but more of a sexy smirk.

It caught me off guard and my punch faltered, allowing him to block my arm. He grabbed it, pulled me and spun me round so I was pinned against the wall. He had a tight grip on my wrist to keep my arm pinned above my head.

He smirked and my breath hitched as I realized how close his face was to mine.
"I win."
His voice was lower than usual and it sent a shiver down my spine. His face was dark yet playful, the sexy smirk drawn across his face and enhancing his emerald green eyes.
"This was fun."
He slowly pulled back and let me go as he turned to leave.

I was just stunned, my face felt like it was on fire and I could hear my own heartbeat.

What the fuck was that?!?!?!?!
