Jily; Hogwarts: A Love Story (First in Marauder's Trilogy)

"So, we're gonna do It today?", James asked Lily as they walked side by side across the halls to the potions classroom.

Sirius popped up from behind them and said, "Do what mate?"

Remus walked past the three of them while saying, "A prank probably."

"Ok, stop, stop, stop, stop," Lily said, stopping the four of them (including Peter who wasn't really paying attention to the conversation) "For this to work, we need a team. So it's the 4 of us and I'm going to ask Alice and Marlene to accompany us." The four boys were frozen at the spot. "What?" She asked.

"Well, to put it politely-", James was interrupted by Sirius.

"They're buzzkills." He said as he earned an annoyed look from Remus and Lily.

"They're great at charms and Alice is absolutely superb at defense against the dark arts. It could be a huge help for pulling this off.", Remus states.

They all nodded and accepted the plan to add Marlene and Alice and started walking towards the potions class again. Just on time the two walked up behind them, with Alice in her quidditch robes. James was recently banned from quidditch for 2 days because Mcgonagall spotted him going to the kitchens when he was supposed to be 'sick' although he didn't rat Lily out.

"Missed you on the field today Potter! Your bans over tomorrow, right?" Alice asked.

"Yeah , pretty much. How's shacklebolt doing as a chaser?" James asked, while Lily constantly eyed him and mouthed at him to ask the girls.

"Horribly! He thinks that hitting the Quaffle in hoops is pointless so he just flies, motionless for most of the time." Alice filled him in.

"Hahah so, Lily has to ask you something." James said quickly walking away with the rest of the Marauders.

After they reached the potions class, the three girls entered a second later. Lily looked towards James, who was trying to sort out his potions work and gave him a thumbs up. She then made her way to sit with Marlene since they weren't having potions with the Slytherins. However, as soon as she sat, professor slughorn asked her to shift and sit with James.

"Mr. Potter seems to be having trouble with, um everything related to this subject.", he said. "Miss Evans, your work is perfect, why don't you help Mr. Potter instead of Mr. Black doing so because I frankly don't think that would end well."

"Well, why not?", Evans said as if she had any choice except this one which would include not disappointing slughorn.

"WHY, THANK YOU EVANS!" James yelled from the other side of the room and the potion Sirius and James had been working on had exploded, burning away most of his robes and a bit of his shirt while Sirius, who had run away in time, was hiding behind the weighing scales on the other side of the room.

"Oh um. Mr. Potter would you like to-"

"Nah, I'm fine. Just brush this off..." he replied while not paying attention to the amused expressions around him and paying attention to making his shirt ash-free.

After a while, James, Lily and Sirius regrouped at the table and she began explaining the instructions which Severus, who had an unimaginable gift for potions had explained to her. When the explanation was done they started remaking the potion.

"Whoa! I did see your dad make that potion! For Sleekeazy's!", Sirius said when they were halfway through the potion causing Lily to drop an extra Asian dragon hair in the potion causing another explosion which, yet again exploded on James' face as the other 2 backed away.

"I'm starting to think you guys hate me.", he said, blankly looking at his shirt which was half blown off and his face was covered in soot. "Evans, if you really wanted me to take my shirt off this bad, you could've asked. Instead of burning it.", James told Lily who was now blushing uncontrollably. After punching James' arm, her expression went back to a shocked one, reminding her of the reason this happened in the first place.

"Your dad's Fleamont Potter? Wow! You'd think you would be better at potions.", Lily said after helping him get rid of the soot on his face and hair.

"You'd think he'd have better hair.", Sirius followed.

"I think he has nice hair.", Lily commented without thinking.

"Thanks Evans.", James said, pretending to wipe his fake tears and then fake hit Sirius.

The rest of the potions class went as per usual without any more explosions. By the end of it, James had been informed that Marlene and Alice would love to take part. They had decided to do it tomorrow since it was a Sunday, right after quidditch practice they would prepare everything.
