The Last Chapter, Of The First Project...

THE LAST DAY, OF THE FIFTH YEAR

"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory."

-Dr. Seuss

Lily woke up to the soulful music of birds and a thousand opera singers drowning her in their rich voices- NOT. No, she woke up to the jarring cries of 4 teenage girls packing their trunks since it was the last day of school. Lily flipped onto her stomach and covered her ears using one of the pillows lying on her four-poster. Someday, you get to those moments in life when, while everyone is asking you to wake up- You don't give a damn. Lily Evans hadn't reached one of those moments thus when monsters, going by the names, Marlene McKinnon and Alice Fortescue pulled her out of bed, literally she decided to finally do something she wasn't planning on doing, something that might end up being a stupid decision- get up.

"LILY 'ANNOYING IDIOT WHO ISN'T WAKING UP' EVANS!" Alice shouted into Lily's ear, making her exhausted-self grimace in pain. "Get your lazy self off your bed," she instructed.

Lily murmured an 'I hate you,' and then rolled off her bed not so gracefully. "You know, I don't think I wanna leave Hogwarts- Hogwarts- Hoggy- Hoggy- Hogwarts." she sang.

Marlene chuckled, "You're not the only one." she sighed as Alice nodded in agreement.

Alice didn't expect to be ending her fifth year being in a relationship. One thing she didn't care about was having a relationship. It seemed utterly useless because only 3 things can come out of relationships; you get married, you break-up or you skin the other person and wear their flesh as a robe. But, this was different, it was unexpected and she didn't mind it. Especially since it was Frank Longbottom, however, her ambitions were not lost. Alice still wanted to be Quidditch captain next year and bring home the house cup while training extensively in 'defence against the dark arts'.

"So, what are the plans for next year?" Lily asked, stowing away her now packed trunk next to the other 2 girls.

"Become Quidditch captain and bring home the house cup," Alice declared, "What about you Lily Evans, what's something you want to do next year?"

"Merlin, what I'm about to say next might be the stupidest sentence I've ever uttered," she started, "I want to spend more time with James Potter." she whispered with a horrified expression while the other two 'awww'ed.

"I just want to avoid all human contact and presence," Marlene said, "Humans are bossy, arrogant and clingy." She lectured, heading inside the bathroom to change. "Did I also mention annoying, irritating and vile?" She mentioned as the other two laughed.

Through the years, Marlene had failed to understand why her friends would want to be in contact with other human beings or have crushes on them. Marlene didn't mind it either because they were allowed to do what they wanted. If their relationships were important to her friends, hell, they were important to Marlene. She had literally become like the big sister in the room, always threatening people that intended to look at either of her friends in a not so nice way, that's why she was happy about Frank and Alice getting together, aside from the couples own bright smiles, Frank was close to Marlene and she approved. She stepped out of the room to find Lily sprawled on her bed and Alice, who had woken up the earliest thus, already changed, poking Lily.

"If you want to shove that list in a certain James Potter's face you have to wake up." Marlene encouraged the extra-sleepy Lily, who at either the mention of the devil or a piece of paper jolted and headed to the bathroom to change. Marlene couldn't help but chuckle as Alice echoed her amusement.
