Marinette was standing quite close by them but somehow they didn't notice her at all. It seemed like they were trapped in their own little bubble.
Adrien was telling Kagami something funny, but Marinette couldn't hear what they specifically were talking about.
"Marinette..." Whispered Tikki. "You need to get inside. Spying on people is not okay."
Marinette didn't really care what was right or wrong at the moment. She just wanted to know what could make them laugh so much.
Kagami was a sweet girl, but she was in love with Adrien too. Marinette did try to stay on friendly terms with her, but it was hard when they shared feelings for the same boy.
Marinette got even closer to them and now their conversation was clear.
"I was wondering if you would like to get ice cream after you're finished here..." Said Kagami while looking at Adrien with her soft brown eyes.
Adrien put his hand on the back of his head and smiled his typical lovely smile. A smile that could melt every girl's heart.
"Sure that sounds great."
Marinette tried comforting herself with that doesn't seem so bad. Friends eat ice cream together all the time. Yeah, they are just friends. Adrien doesn't even like Kagami in that way...right?!
Marinette could see that Kagami was about to leave. Now was her chance to tell Adrien of her affection for him, but maybe it wasn't after all.
Kagami stretched herself to Adrien's height and leaned forward.
Marinette felt like her heart was about to stop beating and there was nothing that's he could do about it.
Kagami's lips met Adrien's and they kissed. He put his arms around her and there they stood for a couple of seconds until Kagami leaned back.
"Goodbye, Adrien." Said she with her soft voice and walked towards a red car, that belonged to her family.
Marinette was frozen to the ground. She couldn't move nor talk. The world simply just paused for her.
A tear left her eyelash and landed on her white cheek. The sudden warmth made her realize what was happening.
Suddenly the world changed and everything became grey and sorrow.
Marinette was about to leave everything, but she caught a glimpse of Adrien looking right at her, but nothing could help her now. Not even him...
