Chapter 9

Chat Noir left only when he was completely sure that Lady Heartbroken was gone. 

He ran to the nearest alley and detransformed. 

"Plagg, what am I going to do when she finds out that Adrien isn't a the top of the Eiffel tower?! She didn't look like she was joking when she talked about Ladybug. How can I live if something happens to Ladybug?!" Said he with a hysteric voice and tears in his eyes. 

Even though he was a superhero that saved lives every day he was still a child...

"Calm down, Adrien," Said Plagg with a restful voice. "Nothing will happen to Ladybug, I am sure of it..." And Plagg was sure because how could anything happen to her when she was Lady Heartbroken, but that he couldn't tell Adrien. 

"You need to focus if you want to defeat Lady Heartbroken"

Adrien looked up at Plagg and realised he was right. 

"But I don't know where the Akuma is hiding" Said Adrien with a sad voice.

"Think about the exact moment before Marinette got transformed. Were there any special items with her?"

Adrien thought to himself quietly. 

"Well, she had her bag but Lady Heartbroken doesn't have any bag so it can be it, right? And she wasn't wearing any form of jewellery, because she gave me her earrings, so it can't be them."

When Adrien thought about it Lady Heartbroken didn't have any items that Marinette owned herself. 

"It was like the Akuma just went into her and not any special object..." Said he slowly, but that couldn't be true...

"I've never heard anything like that." Said Plagg while thinking the whole thing through.

"It was like it went into her broken heart..." Adrien said cautiously. "But that is impossible. An Akuma always places itself on a meaningful object"

"In this case, it was her heart..." Replied Plagg.

Adrien couldn't believe it. How could he save her when the Akuma was in her heart?!

"But...what...how... How can I save her?!" Adrien asked worriedly. "The only way to do this, is to use my Cataclysm, but I can't do it on her heart! That would kill her!"

Plagg knew it sounded insane, but there was nothing else to do. 

"We can hope that when she's a supervillain it won't kill her, but simply hurt her a lot..."

"That is not a solution! I can not hurt her!" Yelled Adrien right in Plagg's face.

"I know it sounds terrible, but what else can you do?! When the Akuma is freed Lady Heartbroken will lose her powers and Ladybug can come and help you fix everything with her Lucky charm. "

If Adrien knew the whole truth he would never accept this idea, but Plagg couldn't see any other option. He just hoped that Marinette would be strong enough to transform and save her own life.

"Okay, we can do this" Said Adrien quietly.

From a distance, Lady Heartbroken's voice could be heard.

"I'm going to destroy your life Chat Noir!" 

Her loud and angry voice could not be mistaken.

"Guess It's time..." Said Adrien.

He took a deep breath and yelled, "Plagg claws out!"
