Chapter 8

Chat Noir was jumping from roof to roof in search of Lady Heartbroken, but she was nowhere to be found. 

He knew that she was trying to find Kagami and that was his only clue.

He had been at Kagami's house, but she wasn't there. He had been at the fencing academy, but she wasn't there neither. Where else could she be? Maybe waiting for him by André's icecreambike?

"Well, it wouldn't hurt to look?" Thought he to himself.

While jumping on the rooftops in Paris Chat Noir tried remembering where the Akuma had possessed Marinette. 

"Why did I spend so much time looking at those meaningless earrings?!"   

Well, he did not have time to blame himself. The only thing that was important right now was finding Lady Heartbroken and then he maybe could figure out where the Akuma was hidden.

He got to a small bridge that stretched over the Seine and saw the ice cream man standing beside his bicycle. Chat Noir was right. Kagami was sitting on a bench only a few meters away. Something about her was changed. Her eyes were pink and glowing just like Lady Heartbroken's and it felt like her soul was missing. Chat Noir took a look around and realised that everyone had the same pink eyes, besides him. 

He then spotted a dark figure approaching him. He now understood that he wasn't the only one who came to the conclusion where Kagami was. Lady Heartbroken was slowly walking on the bridge towards him. 

"Well Well Well. Look's like the kitty has come out to play" Said she with her gloomy voice.

Chat Noir was usually good at coming up with a joke or two, but this was not the day for sarcastic comments.

"Now was the time to figure out where the Akuma was," thought Chat Noir. 

He had a few seconds to quickly look at her and try to guess where it was. The only thing that would make sense would be her gloves. Chat Noir remembered that it was them that gave her the powers to control everyone. 

He saw that she was coming closer, but he couldn't get himself to touch her. Even though she was a supervillain he still saw the little and clumsy Marinette that she really was, but he had to get her gloves or else... he couldn't even think about what would happen.

His plan was to get her down on the ground and take off her gloves. He started running towards her and prepared himself to be as gentle as possible, but it didn't seem like Lady Heartbroken had the same plans. Before he could push her down the floor she took her little arm and punched him right on the face. He flew across the bridge and landed on his bag.

"Ouch," Said he while quickly getting up again.

"Well, I see that we are not sugarcoating anything today," Whispered he.

He ran with full power, but this time she didn't punch him she simply left the ground and flew up to the sky. 

"That is not fair" Yelled he. 

The fight went on for a while. Chat Noir had underestimated Lady Heratbroken's powers. She may have looked fragile, but she was quite the opposite of it. Not only had she some form of super-strength she was also as fast as the wind. Every time he tried attacking her she dodged, but after a while, he finally pulled off the gloves. 

"Cataclysm"  Yelled he louder than he had ever done before in his life. 

He touched the gloves and they turned into dust, but there was no Akuma.

"Did you really think my Akuma was in those gloves?!" Said she while laughing. 

Chat Noir looked up at her with an angry expression. He didn't have many options left other than de-transforming, but what could he possibly do to make her leave him for a while?

"At least I saved Adrien. Now he's long gone and can maybe start a new life..." 

He knew that those words were going to make her react.

Suddenly her sneaky smile disappeared and she quickly flew down towards him.

"Where is he?!" Yelled she.

A sly smile appeared on Chat Noir's face.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" 

Lady Heartbroken clenched her fists and walked towards him. 

They were now only three centimetres away from each other.

"Tell me or I will make your life worse than hell!" Said she angrily. "I know who you love the most in the whole world, Chat Noir. You will do anything for Ladybug... well if you don't tell me I will get rid of her right in front of your eyes!"

Chat Noir for a second blacked out. She did have the power to end Ladybug's life.

"He's a the top of the Eiffel tower," Said he fast. "Please I beg you, don't hurt Ladybug"

Lady Heartbroken turned around and flew away.

"We will see about that," Said she while leaving him all by himself.
