Luna hobbled down the stairs, glancing down at her bandage-wrapped ankle with a glare. It was just her luck to sprain her ankle right before a pep rally. It's not like she was looking forward to it, but she was a member of the cheer team, and not being up there with the rest of the team was going to be strange.
"Do you need help?" Peter asked from the living room.
"I'll be fine," she waved him off, skipping over to the kitchen. "Where's mom?"
"Work," Peter answered, lifting himself off of the couch and stalking over to the girl. "She'll be home at a decent hour tonight."
"Sure," Luna scoffed, grabbing her keys. "I'll see you later."
"Are you sure you can drive?" Peter questioned. "You hurt your dominant ankle."
Luna hesitated, debating on whether or not to take him up on the offer. But then she glanced down at her leg with a grimace on her face and gave in.
"Fine. But, you don't need to pick me up from school or anything."
Peter nodded, grabbing her backpack from the floor and slinging it over his shoulder bringing him back to a time before she had her license and wasn't fueled with anger towards him. While Luna couldn't help but also think back to that time as well. A time where she actually got along with him but that phase did not last long for her and if she was being honest, she sort of resented herself for that.
They came to a stop in front of the school, Luna was running a bit behind for the pep rally and tried her best to run out of the car but it wasn't much of a run considering her ankle. But she soon made her way out to the bleachers and found Layla and Liv, pushing them apart and sitting in between them.
Both girls greeted her quickly before placing their attention towards Coach Baker who was reading the names of the players. And as soon as Jordan's name was called, Luna couldn't help but cheer a bit louder than she probably should've which sparked his attention and he threw a wink in her direction. Alerting the attention of his twin sister.
"Hey, Luna?" Liv turned towards her friend. "What the hell was that?"
"Oh, that...That was just Jordan being Jordan," she shrugged. "Okay, I'm lying. We've gotten...closer."
"Yeah, I know," Liv stated, proudly. "Jordan's had a crush on you since we were kids. But you were too blind to notice."
"Wait, so you're okay with this?" Luna clarified. "Because if you're not, I will drop his ass in a heartbeat. Ho's before bros, dude."
"I am okay with this," Liv laughed. "But, don't forget...Ho's before bros."
Luna reached over to peck her cheek. "I love you!"
"Hey," Layla frowned, tapping her cheek. "You forgot someone."
"How could I forget you?" Luna rolled her eyes, playfully.
