The only time Luna Ramirez had ever been in the hospital for an injury was freshman year when she broke her leg. Other than that, the only trips to the hospital she ever made were to check up on her mom.
However, this was not that instance. Luna could barely think straight as she wandered down the sterile hallways of the hospital, with a blank look in her eye, and a hand clutching her arm. She couldn't possibly comprehend what had just occurred literally less than 20 minutes ago. All she could do was stare straight ahead as she followed a nurse into an exam room.
"You're bleeding." The nurse pointed at her arm.
"It's not my blood," she denied. "My mom...she's a surgeon here. You can't tell her anything."
The nurse shot her a sympathetic glance, removing her hand from her arm and noticing a small wound from when a stray bullet had ricochet and hit her arm. Luna was too in shock to even feel the pain, only thinking that blood was Spencer's and that's all.
"It looks like a flesh wound," the nurse corrected. "You must still be in shock if you can't feel this. I just need to clean it up and wrap it up. Then you'll be fine. The police should be in here shortly after they're done questioning your friend to ask you some questions as well."
Luna nodded, hissing in pain once she felt something cold hit her arm. Her shock was obviously wearing off now and she finally realized that she had indeed been hit with a bullet. All she could do was replay the shooting in her head, Liv and Spencer were fully engaged in a conversation while Luna stood off to the side admiring how cute they looked together. Then they were practically tackled to the floor, but since Luna was standing a bit further away, Spencer had a harder time reaching her. Resulting in a stray bullet hitting her arm. She was just thankful it was a flesh wound and nothing more serious than that.
"What the hell happened?" Luna heard her mother's voice from the other side of the curtain before it was pushed to the side and revealed her daughter and the nurse. "Why wasn't I paged? My daughter comes into the hospital with a gunshot wound and none of you thought to notify me?"
"She told us not to notify you," the nurse shrank in fear.
"What the hell does she know?" Maria snatched the chart from her hand. "She just got shot! Now go, I can take over from here."
"I didn't get shot," Luna tried to argue. "I mean...it was just an accident."
She shook her head, pulling the small flashlight out of her front pocket, and held it up in front of her face. "How's your head. Follow the light, mija."
"Mami," she sighed. "There's nothing wrong with my head. Stop that! You're blinding me!
"Does your arm hurt?" Maria asked. "Do you need something for the pain?"
