"I'm pretty sure cheerleaders are supposed to be on the sidelines not lurking around the boy's locker room."
Jordan's voice had echoed through the hallways, alerting the attention of Luna who was staring blankly at the wall, her hands fiddling with the ends of her cheer skirt.
She turned to face him, smiling sheepishly. "How'd you know I was out here?"
"Asher pointed me out here," Jordan shrugged. "What's up, you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Luna sighed. "I just wanted to wish you good luck, tonight."
"That's why you didn't bother texting me," he teased. "You sure everything's okay?"
Luna shook her head, trying her best to assure him that she was alright. "Nothing you need to worry about."
"Well, thank you," Jordan bowed his head. "I appreciate you coming over here and wishing me good luck."
He raked his eyes over her figure and tilted his head to the side, pointing out her ponytail wasn't tight enough. As she reached up to fix it, Jordan swatted her hands away and tightened it for her, earning a soft blush from her.
"So, I was thinking, since we're friends, now," Jordan drawled. "Maybe we could hang out? Go on a hike or something?"
"Um, yeah, that sounds fun," Luna nodded. "But, I should go over to the field. I'll see you out there, QB1."
Jordan shot her a wink. "I better hear you cheering my name!"
Luna kept a smile on her face and waved her pom-poms as the game went on throughout the night on the sidelines. Then her smile quickly faded as she watched Jordan get tackled harshly to the ground and make no movements to get up. Despite wanting to run straight into the medical tent, she knew it probably wasn't the best idea, even if they were back on friendlier terms. So, she dropped her pom-poms, earning a yell from her coach, and lurked outside of the tent, catching a glimpse at Laura Baker and waved her hand in the air to gain her attention.
"Luna," Laura raised her eyebrow. "Here for Jordan?"
"How is he?" she questioned.
"He should be fine," Laura sighed. "He's on concussion watch but if he passes all of the protocols and doesn't have any symptoms, he should be just fine."
"That's good," Luna breathed out in relief. "Um, don't mention that I was here, thanks! I gotta get back to my team. Bye, Mrs. B! Love you!"
Laura sent the teen a reassuring grin and yelled out an I love you before stepping back inside of the tent and going against the girl's wishes. Telling her son that the Ramirez girl was worried for his wellbeing. After the game was over, Luna retreated to the girl's locker and swapped out her cheer uniform for a hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. As she approached her car she was taken by surprise at Jordan sitting on the hood of her car.
"You dent my car, I kick your ass," Luna threatened. "Jordan, what the hell are you doing?"
"I heard someone was worried about me," Jordan smirked softly, hopping off of her car. "My mom told me."
"Well, she's not wrong, I was worried," she confessed. "How's your head?"
"Oh, I should be fine," Jordan shrugged. "I don't understand why you didn't want me to know that you were worried."
Luna crossed her arms against her chest and shrugged. "That's for me to know and for you to never find out."
Jordan shook his head and raised his eyebrow. "You hungry?"
"Maybe," she smirked, softly. "Why?"
"We can go eat or something," he suggested. "As friends."
The emphasis on friends sort of stung but Luna shook it off and agreed to get something to eat.
"Let's go, Baker." Luna nodded towards her car.
