Chapter 14 - Failure
Rose sat on the couch and grinned at the men opposite her.
Alec was stuffing his face with pop corn while Jace was trying to fix a movie.
"Are you sure your husband won't barge in and throw us out by our necks?" Jace asked as he knelt down in front of the TV.
"Yeah, he comes very late and it is only 12 anyway," Rose said as she made herself more comfortable.
"Yeah, Jace, chill. I will protect you," Alec said with his mouth open. Both Rose and Jace winced at seeing the contents of his mouth.
"Mortified..." Jace muttered and put on the movie.
"Which movie are we watching?" Rose asked.
"Scream 4," Jace announced.
Alec stiffened while Rose looked clueless.
"Is that a good movie? I haven't watched it before..." she said unsurely.
"Oh don't worry," Jace said with a crooked grin, "you will absolutely love it."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Alec yelled and buried his head in Rose's shoulder who was trembling in fear. Jace was hugging her legs and hiding his face.
"Don't open the door..." Rose muttered to the girl in the television, "please don't open it..."
"Why do these stupid girls do that? They know they are in a horror movie, they are supposed to not open the door," Alec said throwing a popcorn at the television.
"It won't be a horror movie if she didn't open the door," Jace said irritated. But Rose knew that even Jace hated the stupid girl.
They watched with stilled breaths as the girl opened the door.
Their front door opened as well and a dark figure loomed at the entrance.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!" Rose, Jace, Alec and the girl in the television yelled. Jace threw the bowl of popcorn at the intruder while Alec toppled backward and fell of the couch.
Rose quickly stumbled and switched on the lights. She knew it had been a bad idea when Alec had suggested to turn off the lights.
To her surprise, it wasn't an axe murderer or something. It was just Daemon.
"Oh..." she said awkwardly as she watched his shocked expression, "hi?"
She didn't know whether to be amused or not that even Daemon had yelled out in fright along with them.
He looked confused from Jace who was holding an empty bowl to Alec who had scrambled from behind the couch holding his injured head. Daemon then turned to Rose and scowled.
"You better have this house clear of everyone before I come out from my bath. Otherwise you can camp along with them outside."
Jace cleared his throat and stepped forward. Pretending that he wasn't the cause of the popcorn on Daemon's hair, he stuck out his hand and smiled, "Hey. Good to meet you, I am Jace."
