Chapter 5- Ready but not ready

Daemon pushed open the door to his penthouse and stared inside. His father had bought this for him when he got his job. He smiled at that thought but the smile quickly faded away when he turned back to the woman behind him.

The poor woman was shivering from head to toe and she was glaring furiously at him. He rolled his eyes at her.

"Are you getting in?" he asked her. She breathed out heavily and turned her head away from him.

"I guess I'll have to take care of that then," he muttered before quickly putting his left hand beneath her knees and carrying her bridal style.

"AAHHH! Let me down you perdant! Fils de salope! CONNARD!" Rose yelled as she was carried inside the house.

She pounded her fists on his chest but he didn't respond as he pushed open their bedroom door.

Before she could continue her profanities, she was thrown on to the bed.

"AAHHH! That hurt, you perdant!" Rose yelled as she held her bruised hip.

"Learn English curses. Then maybe your screaming would be of some use to you," Daemon said before he left the room.

Rose fumed on the bed before looking around and noting her surroundings.

The first thing she noticed was that one wall was complete glass. There was glass painting done and it looked very beautiful and in a way, feminine.

The room was painted a pale shade of red and cream and the wall behind his bed was filled with pictures.

The door opened again and her husband stepped in with the luggage.

"I am not sharing a bedroom with you!" Rose said firmly. Daemon turned and cast his blue eyes on her. He studied her for a minute and then said, "How sad that not everyone gets what they want."

With that, he left her again. She scowled at the shut door and then turned back to the pictures on the wall.

She went closer to them and studied the picture closest to her.

It was of a young beautiful woman. She had the same ebony hair like hers and the same emerald eyes. She was grinning happily and hugging who she could only guess as a younger version of her husband. He was smiling happily; much different from how he looked nowadays.

They were many more pictures of that woman but also those of Dennis and Daegon. She smiled as she saw a picture of her 7 year old husband carrying his 3 year old brother on his back. Daegon was, to her surprise, biting her husband's cheek.

Her husband was smiling too brightly. She couldn't deny that he had been a cute child.

But another picture also caught her attention. The same woman was standing next to a blond, handsome man who looked very different from the rest of the family.

She looked curiously at the picture but left it. Daemon wouldn't appreciate it if she asked him.
