Chapter 30- Twist
"So Nate, where are you staying?" Alec asked, while completely ignoring Jace who was sitting next to him.
"No...no...not a...an...any..."
Rose smiled patiently at Nate as he stammered with great difficulty. Alec was listening patiently as well, well... as patiently as one can while stuffing a full slice of pizza in the mouth.
Jace, to her surprise, was glaring at Nate with spite. Actually, Rose wasn't very surprised. Nobody seemed to like anybody these past few days.
"Oh, then you could probably stay with me," Alec said. Rose turned to Nate and realized that he had said that he didn't have anywhere to stay. She felt pity for the poor guy but suppressed it down at once. Nate didn't deserve pity; he was just as capable as anyone else.
Jace didn't seem to agree with her views. Or even with Alec's views.
"You will not stay with Alec," Jace snarled as he pointed a finger at Nate. Nate nervously pushed his glasses to the bridge of his nose.
"I think you're the last person who would want to say that," Alec yelled and he got up. He must have been hoping to intimidate Jace with his height. His plan failed as Jace also stood up angrily and Jace was taller than Alec.
They both didn't seem very bothered that the children around them had taken out their mobiles and started recording. Probably to post it on the internet; Rose thought dryly.
Nate was looking between both of them in fright.
"I only care for you, you buffoon," Jace yelled. Alec seemed to be swelling up as he looked a little red in the face; like a bull frog.
"You are the last person whose care I want or need," Alec yelled back. Rose fixed her hair as she saw that one of the mobiles was focusing on her.
Might as well look good while everything else was going down.
Seeing Nate's incredulous look, she stood up and cleared her throat. She was deeply disappointed to see that neither of the guys had even spared a glance at her.
"Guys..." she said slowly.
"YOU CAN GO AND STUFF YOUR CONCERN UP YOUR...."
She felt a nudging on her arm and looked down to see Nate who was pointing at the entrance with a frightened look. Rose turned and saw the reason.
"Good morning sir, don't you look fabulous today!" Rose hummed as she nudged Alec. Jace stiffened but Alec was still shouting.
Rose nudged him harder and he looked down at her annoyed.
"What?!"
She tilted her head towards the Principal and shrugged. Alec stopped talking when he realized that they had an audience.
