The first thing Katherine Queen had us as a team do was figure out our image.
There were 30 bands total, meaning ten were on our team. Each band had about four people. That's forty teenagers who were all woken up at 5 in the morning by a shrill, "TEAM QUEEN WAKE UP WE'RE MEETING UPSTAIRS IN THE BLUE ROOM IN TEN."
Forty tired, sleep deprived teenagers were not something I really wanted to deal with.
But lo and behold, there we were. About half of us, including myself had just thrown some clothes on or kept our pajamas on. Logan had stopped and gotten the two of us coffee, giving me a handful of sugar and a little cup milk.
"I didn't know how you liked it," he shrugged.
"Easy, two sugars, and a little milk."
Jake and Andrea were staring at Logan, both having equal looks of bewilderment.
"Where's our coffee?" they grumbled.
"Well I only have two hands and sorry Jake but I doubt one cup of coffee will improve your mood."
Before Jake could think of a comeback Katherine waltzed in. She had a bright smile, and an outfit that seemed brand new. And heels, four inch heels.
"Okay guys so, today you're all going to figure out your image. Do you want to be nerdy, emo, sexy, or badass?" She explained," There's no wrong decision, just make sure that you're all appealing and comfortable. There's different articles of clothing in the bins and hangers around the room and we have three different photographers who will take your pictures when you're ready. These pictures will go on the show's website so make sure you're doing what you want to be known as. Now go!"
Everyone scrambled, shouting at each other and throwing clothing around as they tried to figure out what to do. I ran next to where Jake was, pulling different pairs of pants from one of the giant closets. He lifted up a pair of neon blue pants before turning to me.
"What's up?" He shouted, attempting to be heard.
"What are we doing?! What's our look? " I asked.
"We're all panicking and our look is.... I'm not sure. ASK ANDREA!" He shouted before I lost him, he was shoved into the closet by a swarm of contestants.
I found Andrea by the jackets, she was pulling one after another before tossing them in a little pile she created. She looked at me quickly before throwing a jacket at me.
"Woah, okay. What's our look?" I asked, catching the leather jacket.
"Well, I know everyone in our band is different, unlike some others," she stated, giving a glance at a band that decided to wear the same outfit and pose the same way.
"So just, be yourself because here's what I've got so far. Jake is sorta nerdy, not well, physically but well, personality-wise. Logan is sweet but rebellious, he doesn't like rules. I'm well, sexy obviously," she said batting her eyelashes. "You're more... motherly. The sweetheart of the group I guess. You seem to care about all of us. More than most friends. So just find something that represents you. Oh but don't forget, find something that has a sort of turquoise or blue color cause we still gotta match. "
With that little bit of wisdom I set out to find my "perfect" outfit.

Fifteen minutes later, we met up together near one of the "changing rooms" that were really just dark curtains hung up in a circle.
"Okay guys, don't laugh but here I go," Jake said stepping out of the curtain.
We may not have laughed, but we definitely snorted. He had really tried too hard on the whole "bring out my inner nerd" thing.
