"Won't you let me treasure you?" I slowed my breathing as the song came to a close. We had decided to do a Treasure/ Grenade mash-up and had just finished.
"Great as expected," Katherine smiled.
"Logan I think the amount of emotion in your performance was astounding, really made it seem as though you were speaking to the girl of your dreams," James twirled his pencil around, eyeing the group.
Walter gave no comment, just a quick, "You did good." And a wave of his hand.
We jogged backstage as the curtains closed behind us and the lights dimmed. Grabbing a water bottle from the concessions table I took a few large gulps before turning to look at everyone else.
"I think my voice might have cracked but other than that we did pretty good," I nodded, glancing at the stage.
As a spotlight shined directly on one of the contestants I heard a voice shout out,"Unrealistic Dreams!"
"A drop in the ocean, a change in the weather I was praying that you and me might end up together," Mai sang, making her voice sound like she'd been crying at first.
Claire suddenly appeared, her pale skin radiating in the dark outfit. "It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert but I'm holding you closer than most, cause you are my heaven."
"I don't wanna waste the weekend, if you don't love me pretend," Carter sang, winking at me from backstage while Matt played a bit faster on the piano and kept the song going.
A few minutes later, Matt quickly stood up and switched with Carter, grabbing the microphone before belting out the lyrics.
"You are my heaven! Yeah you are my heaven!" Matt's surprisingly high note ended the song, earning the band a large amount of cheering.
"Well wasn't that something? Katherine did you know about the switch? " Walter asked, leaning back in his seat.
"I didn't even know what song they were doing! You guys were so secretive this week!" Katherine exclaimed, her attention being drawn back to the stage.
James looked at Carter for a second before tilting his head back and making eye contact with me. Our eye contact was so quick I'd almost missed it, but the cameras sure didn't. Before I knew it, my flushed face filled the screen, my mouth agape.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here? " James smirked, suddenly the side by side view of my face and Carter's wink was on national television.
Well would you look at that, Delilah really did make me look nice.
"Ooohh Carter, you've been caught!" Walter said childishly. "Is there anything you'd like to tell us? Anything at all?"
Carter gave a quick glance at the screen and quickly said," Well, right now? Not really mate but okay. That's my friend Liz, we had dinner together a few nights ago, almost kissed her, that's it. We might go out again sometime but yeah."
My reaction caught on TV? A small nod and then me turning around quickly to find food.

The next morning my wonderful wakeup call was a slap to the face with a magazine.
I groaned, opening one eye slowly and focused on Andrea waving around a magazine.
"We're famous! Well, you are. Jake, Logan and I are just briefly mentioned," she took a seat on my bed, crossing her legs. "But I can't believe it. Our little Liz is growing up!" Andrea fake sobbed, wrapping her arms around my shoulders.
