Waking up late in the morning I fought the urge to go back to sleep and miss school. I got dressed in the clothes I had, a pair of tattered and unintentionally ripped jeans with a faded blue tee. Borrowing a hair tie from Diana, I pulled my light brown locks into a ponytail. I sprinted out of the house towards the bus stop, dragging every one of my tired siblings behind me.

"C'mon Liz, it's not like we're gonna miss the bus. Just calm your tits and slow down," Michael said. Drew, Diana and Sal smacked his head.

"Oh yea? Then tell me oh wise one, what is that yellow object passing by? " I asked sarcastically, pointing at the bus we were about to miss.

Jamie and Jared ran down the dirt road driveway and neared the black cement as the bus tried to sneak away from us. Running near the bus, Jared stood and waved frantically at the driver. As he slowed down, the bus driver sighed and opened the door slowly.

"Hey Mr Brown! You were about to miss your favorite riders!" Jared said, shooting a crooked smile to our driver. The rest of us ran behind Jamie who was struggling to keep up with Jared. Picking up Lucy, Jake ran to the yellow bus and climbed onboard.

"Better luck next time bro," he said to Mr Brown, walking towards the back. We all followed in suit, taking up a little less than half the bus. As we spoke to each other and got scolded by Mr Brown for yelling, we finally got to the school.

James P. Sullivan School was a place that combined all of the three usually separate schools into one. It made it easier for me and my siblings to find each other afterwards. I watched as Lucy, Myla and Max went to the elementary side. Jamie, Jared, Drew, and Micheal trudged to the middle side and Diana, Sal, Jake and I walked to the high school part.

As Diana went with the other freshman and Jake went with the seniors, Sal and I were left alone with the other. sophomores and went to our lockers which conveniently were across the hall from each other. I walked up put my combination in and hurried to get my books for my first couple of classes. I grabbed my science textbook and was about to leave as everyone cleared the halls but was ambushed. By the devil's reincarnation and her groupies.

Tiffany Burkewood, the devil's reincarnation, the head cheerleader. With a head of fake blonde hair, expensive clothes, a boatload money and the school's golden boy wrapped around her manicured finger Tiffany was the most popular girl in school and she made sure everyone knew about it. She has the football team and cheerleading squad under her command, making it easy for her to torment anyone. She has bullied almost everyone into practically worshiping the ground she stands on, and those who don't? She just tormented them until they gave up or until they landed at the bottom of the social food chain. Although her favorite people to torment were those who had no money, meaning me and my family. Back to the present though.

Smacking my books letting them fall to the floor, she smirked. The other cheerleaders who followed her like lost puppies crowded me. I crouched down with as much pride as I could muster and began to pick up my things.

"Oops! Looks like you dropped something! Here let me help," Tiffany sneered, kicking my pencils and textbooks farther away from me. Her minions laughed, kicking at my things with their expensive heels. Looking up I noticed one of them, Andrea I think, was quiet and wasn't helping them make fun of me. Glancing across the hall I saw Sal was dealing with problems of his own.

The football team was beating him up, again while insulting him and laughing. I could only watch as my kind, hilarious brother was being ridiculed by something he couldn't even decide.

So what if he's not rich? He hasn't ever done anything to them ever! I wish someone would-

My thoughts were interrupted by a large smack! My left cheek seared with pain as I glared up at Tiffany.

"See how your brother's doing? Well don't worry, we're gonna share the love with you too!" she squealed, an evil glint in her eyes.

"But before we do I just have to ask, where'd you get that jacket? I absolutely love it. I want to get one, for my dog!," she cackled.

"Also, I forgot you're a street performer right? Which one of you is the prostitute again? Is it your mother? Probably. I mean, anyone who has eleven kids has to be a prostitute," she jeered, the cronies laughing along with her. When I didn't answer she gave me a swift kick in the stomach and that seemed to be everyone's cue.

Kicks, punches, insults and happy laughter all mixed into one. Throughout all of this I saw one head of naturally blonde hair just standing there. Not helping but not daring to say something. Instead she made eye contact with me and mouthed, I'm sorry before pointing down the hall and shouting, "Teacher!"

Cheerleaders and football players scrambled, each throwing one last kick at their target. As they all ran down the hall, one final insult was thrown. From the Queen Bee herself she shouted, "Bye dumpster babies!"

Sal limped towards me, one hand holding his side and helped me pick up my things to go to class.

"Wait. So, you're saying a cheerleader helped you? Impossible, I mean... all of them are controlled by Tiffany. No one would dare defy her," Jake stated, shoving a fry into his mouth.

We had decided to, as usual eat lunch together. So all four of us were sitting at one of the little round tables in the cafeteria as far away from the populars as possible.

"Jake, I'm telling you, there was no teachers within a 50 feet radius of us! She's different, " I said, taking one of the ketchup packets and putting it on my fries. Lunch was the one meal a day we could count on since the school had to feed us even though we couldn't pay.

"Well I for one think that maybe Liz is right. Not all cheerleaders might be evil. No one has the guts to go against Tiffany. I mean, look at what she's done to all of us. She even has minions in the elementary school! They've tried to cut Lucy's hair off the other day! But it's because the Queen is too powerful just because of her dad," Diana fumed waving her pizza around for effect.

"Although can we change the topic? I don't want to think about mini Tiffany's running around causing havoc to Lucy and Max," Sal said, snatching a fry from Jake.

"Oh did I tell you the news? Guess what I heard some girls talking about near my locker this morning?" Diana asked, her face lighting up, her gray eyes searched our faces quickly.

Jake reached over and wiped some pizza sauce off her face, "What news?"

"Can You Rock Out is holding auditions in our city next week!" she squealed delightfully.
