Katie's P.O.V

I looked up at the building and looked to my left.
"Go on then..." Kirk smiled at me.
"You're OK! You got collage!" I looked at him.
He laughed. "You'll be great in there! You're recording your stuff. This is what you've worked so hard for. You just wanted to play music, now you have that chance." Kirk smiled, bundled up in his black Frankenstein hoodie, holding my guitar case for me.
"Oh, yeah! Look at me! I'm going to collage. Monroe's gonna suffer." I mimicked him.
He laughed. "You won't!" He handed over my guitar.
I was wearing my black Guns N Roses jacket, red bowler hat, black Def Leppard top, with my red and black jeans, and odd coloured converse. One yellow, one cyan.
"Think it'll be OK...?" I asked him, taking my guitar.
"Of course! You can't be expected to know everything, just watch and learn. It'll be so much fun. I wish I was staying here with you..." Kirk smiled sadly.
"But you're studying music technology. You could be producing albums in a couple years time..." I smiled at him.
"Yeah. It'd be awesome if I produced one of yours, one day..." Kirk smiled.
"That would be my best album, but really... I'd need you on the road with me. Going on a road trip was one thing, but travelling around America for a year, is a whole other thing... I need you there with me." I sighed.
"You can call and I'll visit. You're not on tour yet, Monroe." Kirk smiled at me. "I'm here right now."
"I hate it when you call me Monroe..." I smiled sadly at him.
"Katie." He smiled, looking at me.

Suddenly, a bike pulled up, with Dylan's mini bus following it.
"You left us!" Dylan took his helmet off, parking the bike to the left of the front doors. The first non-disabled parking there was.
The van parked up next to him and Stevie climbed out and ran over.
"Dude, yah ready?!" He asked me.
"I caught the bus, with Kirk! He has collage. You guys were fine, and yes, Stevie! I can't wait." I smiled at my friends.
"Stevie didn't even notice you were gone, until Dylan pointed it out. Oh, and Dylan let Stevie have the van." Eddie grabbed his bass from the back of the van and walked over.
Dylan grabbed his guitar and we all gathered outside the building.

Kirk's phone rang, and he looked at me.
"I gotta get my bus. Have a great day, Katie. Tell me everything!" He smiled, hugging me.
I hugged his waist and smiled. "See ya. Have a good day!"
"Good luck guys!" Kirk smiled to the boys.
"Good luck yourself." Dylan smiled, nodding to him.
Eddie nodded and waved, as Kirk started to walk away.
"You ready for this?" Dylan asked me.
"Where's Todd?" I asked them. "Congrats on the van, Stevie."

Stevie drove himself and Eddie, and Dylan brought the bike.
"Don' know... I'm noh waitin' fur him." Stevie shrugged. "Thanks."
"Let's go." Eddie suggested.
"OK..." I took a deep breath. "Let's go..."
We walked up the steps, through the doors and to the reception.
"Janie's Gun. We have an appointment with the Gov'nor." Dylan smiled at the man behind the desk.
"I'm sorry, who are you here to see?" The man asked us.
"Me." The gov spoke up, standing by a staff only door, on our left.
He wore a black dress shirt, that had white question marks all over it, with black jeans, black shoes, and a white scarf around his head.

We all signed in, Gov showed us up, our days had begun.

. . .

"Todd's been here for an hour already..." Gov showed us into the studio we'd be using. Studio three.
"Why?" Dylan asked Todd, who was sat at the soundboard, looking completely at home.
"My cousin had to go out, so it was either, stay home alone, or come on down. We've only been talking." Todd was such a bullshitter. I didn't believe a word of that!
"Oh right, so you don't come to the house..." I looked at him.
"Hey, chill. He's nothing special. You are however, miss Monroe. Follow me, please!" Gov stood at the door.

Todd was offended by what the Gov just said, but I couldn't care less.
I looked at Eddie, who was closest to me, Stevie and Dylan sat on the back couch, which was L shaped, rather then like the other studio were in in.
Eddie shrugged at me and nodded for me to go.

I hoisted my guitar up on my shoulder and followed the gov.
"Don't be shy." He smiled, leading me to the door on the right of our studio room.
Gov opened the door and let me walk in first. It was the sound room.

The lights came on, and I looked back at the gov, seeing he hit the switch.
"Welcome to the studio. Guys, can you hear me? Press the red button and speak into the mic." Gov looked at the window.
Dylan got up, beating Todd to it.
"We hear you!" Dylan smiled, taking a seat at the board. "Looks great in there!"
"All the mics are on, I'll show you all how it works. We're all taking turns at this. Today, I want to hear your songs, show you the basics, and we'll make plans on recordings. What you guys need to do is make yourselves at home." Gov was walking around the room.

There was a microphone in the centre, near the window, a great sized drumkit in the back, with amps lining the walls, and headphones hanging on a rack, on the far back wall.
The room faced the left, facing the soundboard. The walls were a creamy colour, and the floor was a fake wood panel look. It was beautiful.

"Can I hear a song?" Gov asked me, as I admired the room.
"Uh, sure..." I looked to my friends.
"Play 'Kitty'. Like you did for me..." Dylan looked at me.
I nodded and put my guitar case down on the ground. I unzipped it and pulled out my black Stratocaster. I wasn't sure which one to grab, so I grabbed St Jimmy. My first guitar.
"Nice. I like the stickers." Gov nodded to the band stickers on, all given to me from Kirk.
"Thanks. My best friend got them in a magazine." I smiled looking at them.
Gov nodded and left the room, letting me plug my guitar in and mess with the volumes.

"When you're ready, miss Monroe!" Gov spoke through the mic, kicking Todd out of his seat.
I nodded and took a steady breath, seeing Todd sit on the back couch, and Dylan nodding at me.
"Here kitty, kitty..." I started to play.

"Holy shit." Gov sat up.
